Nestled in front of the shimmering beach and part of the Ekies Hotel, Bubo is more than just a hotel restaurant — it’s a true destination for an idyllic dinner, especially during early evening hours when the golden hues of the sunset paint a breathtaking backdrop. The location alone sets the stage for a memorable evening, but it’s the cuisine and service that elevate the experience to something truly special.
From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable — polished yet warmly relaxed, striking that rare balance between first-class attentiveness and genuine comfort.
We began with the alternative Greek salad, which offered a refreshing twist on the classic, though it didn’t quite steal the show. That honor goes to the celery saganaki, a standout dish of the evening. It was a revelation — a delicate, creamy foam of white miso, harmoniously blended with apple and hazelnut. The textures and flavors danced beautifully, creating a dish both unique and unforgettable. I’ll be ordering it again without hesitation on my next visit.
Another pleasant surprise came with the fish tartare, which delivered a subtle heat and complexity that lingered pleasantly on the palate.
For the main course, both my partner and I chose fish dishes, and they did not disappoint. My dish — grilled and glazed wild fish collar served with a beurre blanc sauce — was simply exceptional. Every bite was perfectly cooked, and the sauce provided a rich, velvety finish that complemented the fish...

I recently dined at Bubo and, unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations.
Service: The service was lacking from the moment I walked in. It took quite some time to be seated, and our server seemed rushed and disinterested. We had to ask multiple times for simple things like water refills.
Food: the food was terrible, it was far from what I expected. The appetizers were awful as well as our main courses were underwhelming. The flavors lacked depth, and the portions were small for the price.
Ambiance: The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but it was marred by the noise level. It was challenging to have a conversation without raising our voices due to the loud background music and other patrons.
Cleanliness: I must commend the restaurant for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. This was one aspect that met my expectations.
Management: I tried to speak to the manger about our dissatisfaction who seemed not to care. Arguing about our complains and offering no solutions.
Overall Experience: Overall, my visit to Bubo left much to be desired. I expected more in terms of both service and food quality, given the price point. While it may have potential, improvements are needed to match the competition in this area. I hope they take this feedback to heart and work towards providing a more enjoyable dining experience...
Read moreGreat location but service and food is not up to standard for the high price. Very slow staff and when we got up to look for our waiter she finally took our order. Once we were all done with lunch we wanted to order desert it was impossible to get the waiter again and again. This time we got up and asked for the manager. The manager decided to argue with us instead of taking the feedback, or apologize for the inconvenience. The desert came from the menu on the table, she said we don’t offer ice cream in the restaurant. All of a sudden a new waiter appeared and she took the desert order without any questions.
Terrible service which can use improvement. Ambiance is defiantly there and it looks all really nice. The beach is...
