Nothing special really.

When we got there the place was pretty empty but we decided to sit, as we liked the not so crowded ambiance. We found an empty table for two and spent next 15 minutes just waiting for somebody to notice us, trying to wave at the waiters that kept passing us in a hurry.

Ok. Weird if you ask me, especially because there weren’t a lot of guests. After we managed to halt somebody to give us the menu, he ran away in a hurry and we spent another 10 minutes until someone got to us eventually and took our order.

The food was really nothing special, ok at its best, but I guess you can expect that because of the lower prices.

Grand finale of this night was after we asked for the bill. We had some of our drinks left, and the plan was to light a cigarette and drink it. But then there comes a waitress asking us to hurry up because the table is reserved and the other people are waiting for it.

Just for reference there wasn’t a “reserved” sign on the table when we came (as there were on a few other tables around us), neither of the two previous waiters that served us, or the waitress had mentioned that the table we were sitting on was indeed reserved.

I am aware that two people can’t eat as a table of six or more, so you can’t earn that much on one table for two. But still, if you ask me, a guest is a guest and should be treated respectfully, letting someone finish his drink or a cigarette is a...

After looking at all the menus across the prom this evening, we decided to eat here after discussing the Greek Veal (Stifado) dish with the waitress on the front. We had a lovely table right on the waters edge and enjoyed a Spaghetti Neapolitan as a starter and two Beef Stifado's with rice and chips. The food was really lovely and all that we asked for (balsamic and vinegar) was brought over to us. It seemed really good value with the greek veal being priced at 10€ each and the pasta at 5€. We didn't have drinks but were delivered a very small basket of bread containing two slices of fairly hard bread and two other items that we didn't touch. We used these to 'clean' our plates with, and the restaurant charged us 1€ - ouch! I've never paid for bread at a restaurant that's put on the table unordered and without being asked for. 1€ for two slices of bread is appalling. I had to pay 28€ in total for a meal that should have cost 25€. Whilst I appreciate it's only 3€, that's not...

We went for holidays to crete. On a day trip we came to Sitia to eat for dinner. An there we found "To Limani". We visited this restaurant with 3 Persons

The Positive Points of To Limani:

The Restaurant ist at the harbour. we got a table at the sea! Nice view! The Service was very nice The House vine was so tasty that we asked for a bottle for take away. And we got one bottle filled for "home". The food was very tasty. From the starters to the main course it was delicious food! It tastes great. I got the feeling that this is authentic greek food. The dessert (a chocolat souflee) was the best I have ever eaten. When I asked after our holidays my girlfriend and our friend, it was the best food we got in this holidays

The negative points: Nothing! Eat there!

Dear To Limani, Thank you for the nice evening in your restaurant....

A nice surprise in the middle of our restaurant hunt. We asked a local on the street for recommendations and he pointed at To Limani. Very nice waitresses took our order and served huuuge portions of food. Everything was very tasty, the rabbit in wine, briam, mussels saganaki… and the cretan salad that we tried for the first time. Perfect! The free dessert and the raki at the end go without saying. We were so full and satisfied. But the cherry on the top was the super kind service. Gina, our waitress, is super nice speaks perfect english and very passionate about Sitia, Crete and Greece. We will definitely be back for the food and for the people. This is truly Cretan hospitality!

Great place directly by the harbor. Get a table directly by the water and just soak up the atmosphere. Food is delicious (make sure to try Cretan dishes, like the Cretan salad - the only place where you can get it with Kritamos!). Taramosalata was my favorite in all the places I tried it. They claim to harvest their own snails, sea salt, kritamos, and make a lot of their dishes in-House. Service is great and honest - especially Gina :) Prices are surprisingly good. As you actually can’t go wrong with any of the places in Sitia, this one surely is our favorite. UPDATE: We have been here 3 times during our stay- we can highly recommend. Will come back.
