JAR — Restaurant in Municipality of Syros and Ermoupoli

After reading multiple great reviews, we decided to have breakfast at JAR. Despite raving reviews, this was not an enjoyable experience. We ordered three plates of pancakes and fried eggs. To begin with, the pancakes were not freshly made and had most likely been shoved into the toaster before arriving on our table two minutes after we ordered them. The fried eggs were not entirely fried and some raw egg white remained around the yolk. Some sort of strong perfume lingered in the air throughout our entire meal, and was not in the slightest pleasant. The only decent part of the meal was the drinks (a beetroot juice, two orange juices and a grapefruit soda). Lastly, the receipt did not have all the items on it and didn’t even show a total amount we had to pay. All in all it was an unpleasant experience and I don’t recommend...

We visited Jar twice, once for brunch and once for cocktails around sunset time! It is located in a very beautiful traditional island alley and has beautiful decoration. The staff was very polite. An exceptional little cafe/bar in one of Syro's small alleys. We went there for a snack and left excited after trying their coffee, fresh juice, sandwiches and spoon sweet. Simple menu but with a twist, excellent ambience, amazing music and very friendly staff. I loved their neon sign reminding me La La Land's Seb's.
