The Phoenicians where the first inhabitants of Syros, they were astonished by its marvellous and lingering beauty that decided to name the island “Ousyra” which means “Happy”, this name with the pass of the time turned into “Syros” which is how we know this beautiful piece of land in the middle of the ocean and so that, this restaurant was named after.
My girl and I ended up here when we were looking for a place to eat and our noses brought us to this place by the smell of a delicious grilled meat.
The restaurant is located on a calm, quaint and beautiful alley close to the city centre, and is decorated with white tables along a marbled alley.
The staff is quite friendly and offered us an outdoor table for two with candlelights on it.
We ordered a Quinoa Salad, Mandila al Pesto Alla Genovese and Bistecca Fiorentina along with a pair of glasses of local wine and must said that the pairing was amazing and pretty delicious for us, we experienced a nice time here on our vacations along Syros and Greece.
If you are visiting Syros do not forget to experience this venue, you will surely love its...
Read moreI have visited this restaurant about 15 day ago. Situated in the classic restaurant street of Hermoupolis. Multiple award winning chef Mr Nicos Pouliasis, is responsible for the menu and it shows!! Elegant dishes, immaculate execution and out of this world flavours make this menu a little gem in the otherwise monotonous restaurant scene of Syros, with a few exceptions of course. Well thought and balanced portions, paired with a very well sourced wine list make the dining in Ousyra a pleasure. Discreet but efficient service top this night out, making it a real culinary experience with seasonal fresh products. Must have dish must be the manouri in filo pastry with sesame seeds and a mandarin and masticha dressing. The pinza makes a fresh and very light starter to share choice as well as the salads. Fish and meat options are available and plenty of choices for vegetarians. A highly recomend restaurant for this 2024...
Read moreThe service was awful. There were 2 main servers and 2 helpers (the helpers did a better job than the main) but even though there were 4 people at the time they needed about 20 minutes to even get us the menus 10 more minutes to take our order but the cherry on top was when we wanted to pay. They kept ignoring us or telling us that they’ll be there in a bit. We spent more time waiting to pay than to sit there and eat. The main girl was very unprofessional and looked like she didn’t care ab anything. I’m pretty sure they treat you based on the bill that you have. Bc that’s what we experienced. The other table was big with ab 10 people and the staffs whole attention was there. They kept ignoring us and serving the other table even though we went there before and left before the other table. The food was okay but very overpriced for...
