For our last day of vacation in Santorini, we decided to come and eat in this restaurant which seemed to be a very good omen (nice panoramic view and good Google reviews). So we went to dinner at Panorama Akrotiri, hoping to spend a good last evening of vacation and eat good food. First of all I would like to point out in all humility that I am a chef, so I know the basics of catering. So we arrive, in a large room, as promised the panoramic view on the cliffs, we are welcomed by a waitress (the manager) who installs us (6 people), we order 2 starters (a grilled feta and dolma), the 2 starters are rather good, even if I ate much better dolma during my stay. Then we order the dishes, 2 grilled salmon (with vegetables and rice and the other with vegetables and French fries), 2 linguine with salmon, 1 sea bream and 1 moussaka. The dishes arrive, and it starts... The salmon is without hesitation frozen, it is dry, far too cooked and a white deposit not very appetizing is on it, the vegetables are in fact a mashed potato in which you will find some pieces of frozen vegetables, an industrial salad dressing comes to raise the whole. The linguine is way overcooked, the salmon pieces are served with the skin on and the sauce is not very tasty. The sea bream is just grilled and good (still lucky), the portion of fries is pathetic (15 fries at most) and same thing as the salmon for the vegetables. I decide to ask the waitress to change my dish because I was expecting sautéed or steamed vegetables, and I thought the salmon was way overcooked, the waitress is hesitant, she accepts anyway, and comes back 5 minutes later with the same dish without the mashed potatoes, replaced by fries, and my salmon...well half of my salmon, they had thrown away half of the salmon I had cut. So I ask the waitress again to bring me the other half. Everyone at the table is rather disappointed, but we try to remain positive. We decide to order another grilled feta because we had liked this entry...SURPRISE! A hair, and not a small one! We call directly the waitress who looks at us and tells us "are you sure it's not your hair?", we answer her that it was clearly in the feta, she apologizes and takes the dish away from us, she comes back by specifying us that the dish will not be counted in the note...seriously...fortunately.... This is really the last straw, the dishes are not good, half of the food is frozen, we are disgusted by the hair so nobody finishes his plate, the plates are still almost full, we are clearly annoyed and disappointed. So we decide to go and see the manager to explain to her that we are very disappointed and that we are waiting for a commercial gesture, she tells us "of course, we won't count the grilled feta in your receipt" LOL.... We explain clearly that we think this is not normal, we want to pay for what we ate, not for bland frozen food. She tells us that if we don't want to pay she will call the police. She also tells us that in 22 years of business we are the first to make trouble, isn't that a bit inappropriate? She finally agrees to withdraw the dish of salmon to 22€, it is already that. Finally we get out of it with a note of 156€ for plates left full. Frankly disappointed, no customer service, just a hole to catch tourist. They don't care about their customers, they know that they are only passing through and that they can afford to serve poor quality food. Restaurant to avoid, unless you like to eat crap. Be ashamed to serve such mediocre food to your customers, you are not restaurateurs

Read moreTBH being Chinese tourists we don't always get the best customer service due to stereotyping. This restaurant owner (I assumed) didn't treat us that way though. He might not speak very good English and we speak next to none greek. But that didn't stop him from being nice to us. We asked him to take pictures of us multiple times. He didn't give us attitude and he even took couple selfies with us at the end haha.
We came for dinner at around 4pm. We were the first table there so we just picked a table next to the window. It was kinda a gloomy day so it's not a good day to see the sunset. The sea also had a thick layer of marine layer. But I can imagine this restaurant having the best view in the summer time.
We ordered the seafood platter, stuffed pepper, stuffed squid, some kinda soup that came with a plate of fish, some stir fried squid with lettuce. None of us drink so we didn't order any beer or wine. The total came down to €100. Before we got the check though, the owner gave us each a shot of wine and a plate of fruits. The food were very good. We cleaned all the plates. The customer service was what made our meal extraordinarily...
Read moreWhat a lovely Restaurant. We came for the fantastic view but get back with à tasteful experience of Greek cuisine. First the restaurant is on the edge of the cliffs with a 180° view over the Caldera, what a breathtaking view. Unfortunatly for the owner the restaurant was empty the evening we came (the day before easter), but luckily for us we had the whole restaurant for us. The waiter was so nice and good advisor regarding the plates and the wine. We had a full diner and tried different starters such as Tzatziki, meat balls, tomato balls, all were freshly cooked, tasty, full of flavours. As main dishes we took grilled fish and octopus, that was delightful. We drank local wine Sigalas Assyrtico white wine, a lovely one. He was always considerate and took care for our comfort. He offered us the dessert and muche more. Thanks to him despite the lake of customers, he remains open and provide us a lovely experience. Even if it's outside the main cities of the island of Santorin, don't hesitate to get a bit further and try it, you won't be...
