We have travelled extensively in Greece and have always received a warm welcome with clean but basic accommodation. We expected the same for our first time in Santorini but WOW! The hotel Kalimera is outstanding. On our (very late night) arrival, Flora was waiting with the warmest of welcome and information about the island. We were even given a choice of rooms. Our one was spacious, squeaky-clean and beautifully furnished with lovely wall art and accessories. The en-suite bathroom was immaculate and spacious. The shower was better than our one at home! Little touches like cotton wool and cotton buds in jars, potpourri were so well appreciated.|The buffet breakfast was plentiful and varied to suit any taste. You had a choice of eating in the lovely dining room - again tastefully furnished and accessorised - or alfresco by the pool. |Huge thanks to Flora and her staff and especially to Eleni to whom we taught an English phrase...."wine o'clock"...which amused her greatly. Her friendship and service were second to none. I defy anyone to find a leaf, bug or even a speck of dust in the pool or surround.|The location of the hotel couldn't be better. A bus-stop literally outside the gate and buses that can take you anywhere over the island. The little village was a short walk away with lovely, friendly bars and tavernas serving great food. A couple of well-stocked supermarkets completed our needs.|A short bus-ride or 20 minute walk away were the amazing remains of the ancient village. Absolutely fascinating and close by was a small beach, a little harbour for boat trips and again, some fab tavernas.|We would have no hesitation in recommending Akrotiri but especially the Hotel...

This is a very well kept little hotel in a great location. The staff are very attentive to your needs and very friendly. Flora and her team are very pleasant and run a well oiled machine. My only criticism is that the bar shuts very promptly at 11pm when you are encouraged to leave rather quickly. There is no tea making facility in the room so if like us you like a hot drink on your balcony before retiring you will be disappointed. You can hire one apparently but with just a single socket in the room right next to the bed it wouldn't be easy to use. Charging multiple devices which most have these days was also something of an issue. Akrotiri village is just a stones throw away and has a handful of traditional tavernas catering for all tastes. Our personal favourite was Portobello which we visited 3 times. The food was great and the staff very friendly and polite. If you want to travel further afield the buses are a cheap and simple option with a bus stop right outside the hotel.|We had a lovely time but these small improvements would have greatly improve the whole...

I'll get what some folks will consider negative out of the way. If you have bad knees or otherwise do not want to climb stairs then this is not the place for you without reserving a floor unit but even still there are steps around to get to various spots around the property. The staff is great and there is a really fun doggy roaming around. The location for me worked out well within easy walking distance to small cafes and other hotel restaurants along with some small shops. It's also in walking distance to the beach though a long walk. Overall, great place with decent accomodations run by nice people. Would highly recommend.

Just arrived back from a lovely stay at this hotel. All the staff are so helpful and friendly, and they offered multiple suggestions on what to do around the island and always greeted you with the warmest smile! The rooms are relatively small but very clean and contain everything you need. The hotel is quite a distance from the main area of Oia but it was actually quite nice to be able to escape the mayhem of Santorini and come back to a quiet, beautiful, less touristy area, with lots of nice restaurants within walking distance.

Great stay at this family run hotel.Flora is very attentive and helpful. Beautiful immaculate facilities and rooms. Pool area is a delight with attached bar and restaurant. The bus stop is just outside the hotel.Akrotiri is a pretty village with lovely tavernas. The ruins here are well worth a visit. It is good to get away from the hustle and bustle of the larger towns.
