The perfect holiday for a couple. ||The views are out of this world. We stayed in the triple room with a sea view and the views were absolutely breathtaking. The room was stunning, spacious and well equipped too. ||Akrotiri location-wise is perfect for Santorini. Out the way of the mayhem of Oia and Fira, but close and accessible enough to visit for the day/evening, with the buses running hourly from 9am-10pm from the stop right outside the complex. ||I’d recommend getting buses around the place as taxis are expensive. It’s not an issue with the apartments, more of Santorini in general. It’s €2 from the stop opposite the villas to Fira. ||The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout the stay, and you could really feel a family-vibe to the atmosphere in the reception area, around the place and at breakfast. ||You’re a short walk down the (very steep!) hill to Caldera Beach, which is great for snorkelling but is also so quiet and peaceful. You’re also a 20 minute walk from Red Beach, where there are plenty of seaside restaurants. I’d recommend the Dolphin! ||There is also a fantastic Greek night on every Wednesday and Saturday at a local restaurant which is a five minute walk up the hill. ||Breakfasts at the hotel were fresh and it was served quickly each morning. There’s also a mini supermarket directly outside the villas. ||Finally, wanted to shoutout how helpful the team were at amending our booking. Despite it being a non-refundable visit, we needed to change the dates due to personal circumstances. They were so flexible and made it completely stress free.||Would love...
Read moreWe booked through a third party provider and I genuinely think the pictures do not do this place justice.
The views are spectacular. Our terrace ran along the whole apartment and had a large section with 2 loungers and a table, as well as a narrower side which we didn't really use (but was still stunning).
The apartment was really clean and spacious. A/C in every room. The bathroom was nice and spacious as well.
The pool area had stunning views, although the pool itself seemed a bit outdated. We didn't particularly mind and most of the time it was empty as everyone had such wonderful views from the flat they rarely spent time there.
The only thing of note is that the terraces are right next to each other so privacy is somewhat limited (you can see all your neighbours).
They should also be a bit clearer with the breakfast and how to order it. You have to place it the evening before and we thought the selection refers to portion (e.g. One portion of pancakes, but instead we literally just got 1 teeny tiny pancake 😂). It was really good but it's just a bit odd. Other than that, it's perfect!
The area was also great - Akrotiri is just a short walk away and you can find lots of restaurants and shops there. There's also a beach under the hotel, although I've never seen anyone actually swim there (seems more of a boat/kayaking/etc. area). It's on the quieter side of the island which is just so great in the summer when Santorini becomes...
Read moreWe stayed for 4 nights in the hotel as part of our honeymoon. It was the most amazing place, we couldn’t have wished for more! We chose the superior jacuzzi room which was a little more expensive than the regular jacuzzi rooms, but worth it for the extra space on the terrace with sun-loungers and a parasol. The room, terrace, views and jacuzzi were exceptional, as were all the staff who were all so friendly, especially the main receptionist. The pool was also incredible, the views over the sea and volcano were just beautiful. As well, the price was the best we found for the type of room with private jacuzzi next to the beach in the whole of Greece. |We booked direct with the hotel without breakfast, but we ended up having breakfast there almost every morning as it was excellent quality and value, and so much variety! |The location of the hotel is also excellent, you can walk into the center of the village in 5/10 minutes, and the village of Akrotiri is exactly what we wanted. There are enough great value restaurants and bars to eat somewhere different every day without being overly touristy as Fira and Oia. A much more typically Greek feel than other areas of the island. You can also walk to the local beach in 5 minutes, and can catch the bus to Red Beach and Fira which makes it easy to get around the island as well. We loved every moment, I’d love to visit...
