Taste of the beach — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

What a wonderful time we had at taste of the beach. For those of you who are wondering, as I was, how the Beach Clubs work. They are all aligned along the beach next to each other with a restaurant that serves food to that particular set of chairs. I kept looking up Beach Club, and kept finding beach restaurant. They are all next to one another down the same stretch of beautiful black sand beach. The ones that charge you $300 for a cabana and the ones that are free are directly next door with only slight changes in decor and comfort..

This one is a lovely restaurant and lounge chair combination. If you call in advance, they will save you chairs at no cost. Would never ever visit this place again. We ordered chicken carbonara, calamari and other items and all the items were horrible. Chicken carbonara had thin strips of chicken that you could count on your fingers and lots of boiled spaghetti with barely any carbonara sauce. Upon complaining to the manager he said why don’t you go to the kitchen and cook yourself. Wow!!!! That kind of hospitality and that too on a tourist destination. We love local Greek food and always support local businesses but this one is a HELL NO. Wasted almost $200 on the most pathetic lunch. We had to go eat at sunny restaurant which is next to it and their food was delicious including the mushroom Risotto. What a fantastic experience! We had dinner here and met Stefan. This was our first dinner after over 24 hours traveling, yet somehow we picked the absolute perfect spot and so much fun! The food is just fantastic, Stefan is the owner and attends to every need and very helpful on explaining food selection. We like to experience various food and places for dinner.... which there are many great places nearby. But none quite as good as Taste of the Beach, so we went back for a second night.
