Forty One 41 — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

We spent the day here and decided to go with the front row beds for €300 as we booked on the day and there weren’t many other options. The package came with a bottle of LPJ, a fruit platter and sushi platter. We were taken to our beds quickly but then after our server left we didn’t hear back for ages which left us confused because we didn’t understand how anything worked (how to order, who our server is, etc). We eventually get someone’s attention 40 minutes later - my partner and I aren’t big drinkers so we asked to swap out the champagne for a shisha and a couple cocktails but we were told it would just be a straight swap for the shisha. The champagne is over double the price of the shisha so it didn’t seem like a fair deal but we didn’t dispute because it already took a long time to get served so I didn’t want to cause trouble.

Overall the food was nice, the place is aesthetic and a nice vibe but the service wasn’t great. The staff were polite but we had always had to wait ages to get someone’s attention instead of being checked up on like others around us and we never really knew who was meant to be our server. We felt like a burden as we were always passed on to other staff. The only time we spoke to the staff was to let them know we’re ready for the fruit platter or sushi so literally a couple of times out of the 7 hours we spent there. Towards the end of the day we ended up with a friendly waiter who was attentive but it was already late in the day right before we were set to leave.

It’s not worth the €300 we spent, we definitely didn’t get our money’s worth and I would recommend booking a cheaper bed and adding on any food / drinks you want. It’s a shame because that’s a lot of money to us and it doesn’t take much to keep us happy, we just expected...

My husband and I decided to spend the day at Forty One 41 beach club for our last day on Santorini before heading to the airport. It was a great decision. The club is about 30 minutes walk from the centre of Perissa where the local bus stops. It was a pleasant walk down the black sand beach front to find the club. I imagine you could book a taxi if needed.

We paid for the Classic sunbed beach experience which included rent of two sunbeds (second row) for the day, two cocktails and towel rental. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to the sunbeds and returned throughout the day to check if we needed anything, we ordered water and various drinks throughout the day. The drink selection and cocktails were good.

We really liked the decor and vibe of this beach club. The sunbeds were comfortable and clean. The only negative point was that I have coeliac disease which means I have to follow a gluten free diet. I asked the staff about gluten free food options and they seemed unsure and told me the sushi menu was not safe for me to eat. Therefore I did not feel confident to eat here, despite spending the whole day. Luckily I had some snacks with me.

Overall, good location, good atmosphere, good service - just not ideal in terms of food options for people with dietary requirements. If the restaurant could clearly label a selection of allergens / gluten free options on their menu it would greatly enhance the service offered.
