Avoid Cova at All Costs
I visited Cova in Vouliagmeni today, and honestly, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Where do I even start?
The service was completely out of order—slow, uncoordinated, and disinterested. Then came the food, which was somehow even worse. We ordered a Caesar salad, and it was, without exaggeration, the worst Caesar salad I’ve ever tasted. Bland, uninspired, and an insult to the name “Caesar.”
We also tried the salmon club sandwich, which was another disaster. The bread tasted stale, like it had been sitting outside the bag for days—dry, tough, and not remotely fresh.
And the icing on the cake? The French fries. They were McCain frozen fries, deep-fried and sad. Honestly, if I wanted that, I could’ve stayed home and saved my money.
What’s truly shocking is that this place is located in Vouliagmeni, one of the best and most expensive areas in Greece. You’d expect high standards in such a prime location, but instead, Cova delivers cheap, low-quality ingredients and food that feels like it came from a bad cafeteria. It’s absolutely crazy that a place like this exists in such a luxurious area.
Cova needs a serious wake-up...

Can you believe they serve a small half sandwich with only bread and prosciutto nothing else for 15€? It’s a disgrace actually. Then we tried the salmon sandwich, which was served in old bread the type that’s used for hot dogs in a New York City food stand. The salmon sandwich has some type of cream cheese and that’s it. Then we tried the avocado and chicken sandwich, Omg , the chicken was boiled and must have been in the fridge. It tasted awful. The portions were very small, half the size of your hand and no choices on the menu.
The only nice thing was the coffee, that’s all.
Also in the front part outside on the terrace there is a lot of wind, making it very uncomfortable.
However I must congratulate the service, the waiters at Cova Astir Marina Vouliagmeni Athens were excellent. But you don’t only pay for the service, you pay for the food and that will never make me go back ever again and neither will my friends or tourists we were traveling with.
I don’t recommend Cova Astir Marina to anyone . If you have money to spend...

Finally the most famous Pasticceria (pastry shop) in Milan opened in Greece. It is much more than a simple pastry shop. It is a glamourous, warm, amazing place, in a spectacular location (Astir Marina), where you will be pampered by the talented, over the top Cova team.
I use to stop by in other Cova venues in Italy and Asia, and this one respects fully the same high standards!
I visited the place for lunch: short menu, but very well structured, including some iconic dishes like the Veal Cutlet alla Milanese or the Milanese Saffron Risotto.
I chose the second one and it was really tasty. As starters I had the Caprese salad and some focaccia, finishing strong with a double dessert: Coppa Cova and Affogato al Caffe'. Historically Cova started as a Pastry shop, so the dessert Menu is incredible.
Cova instantly become my new "to go" place. Good luck to the unique team: your adventure is...
