If you are ever in the Athenian Riviera town of Voula, I would strongly recommend that you make time to go to Salve. You won't be disappointed. I was fortunate enough to stumble across this wonderful place and had the most superlative dinner there this week. It hit all the marks in terms of excellent food, great service, paired with a very pleasant atmosphere. The food selection is very creative -- like a greek gastropub so to speak, with innovative flavors and offerings that I have not seen anywhere else in Greece. We were also very lucky to be served by one of the best servers -- Thanassis. From the moment we showed up at the entrance, Thanassis made us feel very special -- he showed us to the best table, recommended the perfect selection of appetizers and entrees, and also was able to guide us on what wine to have that would best complement what we were having. His excellence definitely amplified our enjoyment of the overall experience, and we will definitely be heading back to Salve soon. I would greatly recommend the stuffed mushrooms and the feta croquettes as well as the angus burger with roquefort. I am looking forward to my next visit there -- Thanasis, be sure to save me a table! : ) Thank you to the entire team at Salve - it was a great experience!
Visit #2: I went for a 2nd time to see if "lightning could strike twice", and happily Salve was even BETTER the second time around. I took my cousin and his wife Saturday night, and we had a very memorable meal -- we ordered Ribeye, the T-bone, and many amazing appetizers -- see photos below. We were once again served by the most wonderful person, Thanasis -- who made us feel like kings. Additionally, the ever so creative and gifted mixologist, George, created for us an endless array of delicious cocktails -- from spicy yet refreshing cucumber to the scrumptious passion fruit. We said we did not want to leave and just wanted to live at the restaurant! Again kudos to Thanasis and to George -- and to the chef (who is from Crete) who made a spectacular deconstructed Dtakos salad - the best I have eaten in...
Read moreWe visited the place last Friday for dinner and we both enjoyed it. It was the best ending in a working week. Food: couldn't decide what to order, everything looked great. We did notice that each plate was coming on a slower pace than other restaurants, but each dish was served at excellent execution & temperature. On a more positive view, this way we enjoyed our conversation with no rush and tasted every bite. Wine: The person who assisted us on choosing the wine was very well educated on the subject but didn't make us feel ignorant.
Servis: Very polite and trained in my opinion.
Finally, in order to have a balance, the only "negative" was the portion size of the desert. We found it too big for two people too share. But, was so tasteful! We ordered the chocolate cake. Overall we will definitely be...
Read moreThis restaurant is a gem. Excellent service and very well cooked food. My husband chosed tagliata and it was exactly as "medium rare" as he desired. The salad with rosted vegetables was also very tasty. Everyone that served us with no exception were friendly and provided a very nice eating experience for us. An extra thank to Fanos who translated the menu for us as we are not so good in greek. (A suggestion is to have a menu on English in order to cater for foreign guests as well) And one of the stars above is especially for the sommelier Danny who gave very good advice regarding wines to our food and dessert. PS Make sure to leave room for Salves signature cheesecake. Big enough to share but you might end up with ordering two as they are so yummy. We will definitely...
