August '21. Greek guy here. There were Cats all over the place, sitting on the chairs and climbing on the tables we WERE about to eat (completely inappropriate for a tavern), plus bees flying all over the place. We waited for at least 15 min until someone came to take our order, and the tavern was not crowded. Food came relatively quickly. Dishes of the Day were very tasty. We also ordered a Greek salad, which was little (compared to other places) and really overpriced for what it was (6,8 euros). Even the feta cheese it included, was too little. Worst thing about the salad though, it hardly contained any olive oil. Completely unacceptable. I had to ask for extra olive oil, which came in a tiny pre-packaged bottle, costing something less than a Euro. Another thing.. Just by sitting down, the waiter brought us 2 individual small breads, costing 1 euro each, which we didn't ask for. The rest of the food was ok, nothing special though, and leaning a bit towards the expensive side. When we were done, there was no complimentary sweet or fruit offered.. Yep, I know it sounds weird to foreigners, but it's a THING here in Greece, most taverns do that. Lastly, we paid with visa/credit card and NO RECEIPT has been issued, meaning that 13%/23% VAT (of the amount of our bill) which is taxes the tavern is supposed to pay from Me to the Government, goes straight into their pockets.. To sum up, don't think it's a decent place to eat, cause it's not. These details actually make a difference,...
Read moreI don’t like to leave a bad review but my experience here was not great. It wasn’t all bad, the lamb in wine I had was actually very good but my girlfriend’s salad was very salty, a shame as it would have been okay otherwise. We only drank the 500ml red wine, this was unfortunately just a cheap bottle of table wine rather than a local barrel wine, it really wasn’t great. The service was great to start with, very polite and attentive, then when we asked for the bill it took an age to arrive, the waitress having a snack behind the bar meanwhile. Then when we requested that the water we had not drunk was removed from the bill the waitress became very surly, I would have given 2 stars if it wasn’t for this. We didn’t leave a tip and it is very rare that we feel that...
Read moreA stunning location, however the owners attitude spoilt our experience of enjoying our wine overlooking the sea.
There were no other customers. We were seated away from the main restaurant area / bar area and because there was no music playing in the background, we played a song on our mobile phone (without a speaker) and as we took videos and photos of our children, the owner then shouted across and said "if you want to listen to your music, go to the beach". He said he wanted to listen to the "sea". We were shocked that he was detering his only paying customers away. This spoilt our mood and experience and we left. After killing our holiday vibe & buzz, he walked off !
2 stars because the complimentary bread was nice and the view...
