We are a family of five and stopped by for breakfast. The restaurant was nearly empty, with only a few of the 20 or so tables occupied. Shortly after we sat down, a waitress brought the menus and returned just two minutes later asking us to order. We politely explained that we needed more time — which is quite normal when ordering for a family with children.
However, she returned again just two minutes later, pressuring us to order quickly and saying that more groups were expected, despite the restaurant still being mostly empty. When we again asked for more time, her attitude became noticeably rude. She made unpleasant facial expressions and walked away, visibly commenting to her colleague while glancing in our direction, making us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome.
When we were finally ready to order (only a few minutes later), she told us that breakfast was no longer being served — even though it was only around 11:20. We asked if we could order lunch instead, but she abruptly responded that only drinks were available and the kitchen was closed. Again, her tone was impolite and dismissive. It was odd, especially in a tourist area, that breakfast would end that early without any prior notice, especially since we could still see food being served on other tables.
We decided to leave and went next door to KYMA RESTAURANT, where the experience was completely different — warm, professional service and a welcoming atmosphere. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing and unnecessarily unpleasant. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, as service like this drives...
Read moreThe worst place we’ve eaten at in all of Kefalonia – no exaggeration. Because we had no signal on our phones in Fiskardo, we didn’t manage to check any reviews for restaurants, so we just picked based on the menus we saw. Unfortunately for us, we ended up here.
Three people, three mains (fish), two starters, and three beers – total: €90. We asked for pitas (not bread), and they brought one pita – for three people… Despite the place being nearly empty, we had to chase them for two hours just to get another one.
I ordered red porgy (fagri) as my main, and they brought me sea bass instead. We asked how much the whole fish weighed (listed at €18). They told us “around 400g” – what they brought was barely 200g.
The waiter (possibly the owner or manager – that’s how he behaved) was loudly complaining about the restaurant’s problems to an employee right next to our table. So professional! And of course, they were polishing cutlery right above our heads.
The food itself tasted stale, definitely not fresh – quite the opposite of what “Mr. Cool” was claiming.
To top it all off, we were almost eaten alive by wasps – one even got stuck in my hair.
When we politely mentioned all these issues at the end – the wrong fish, the poor service – the waiter couldn’t care less and just walked off. We stayed at the table a few minutes after paying, and this “gentleman” gave us dirty looks the whole time. Wow, scary. So tough!
Long story short: you’re better off eating a croissant from a supermarket than setting foot in this place – even if you’re...
Read moreWe approached the restaurant and the lady at head of house offered to take our rubbish as she explained that there aren’t many bins around. We were hungry and took a look at the menu, instantly liked the look of the food and the lady’s kind nature and happy soul sealed the deal. We got to choose a table right on the water, we watched the boats come in and the sun set. Beautiful.
We ordered the lamb souvlaki, mousaka and halloumi salad. With 0.5ltr of rose (on the house) and a sprite. Little did we know we had pitta, feta with honey and sesame with dips come out before our food and it was such a special (and delicious) surprise! Our food was so tasty, orders taken and served with a smile. The staff were so attentive and went above and beyond to support our needs. It was such a wonderful experience and evening, made very special buy the staff. Thank you.
We parked on the road down to the harbour only a 5 min stroll to the restaurant. We got to enjoy watching the boats which was a lovely treat, watching the world go by.
The price was good and such great quality food, service, atmosphere and location. Highly...
