Our welcome was not a particularly warm one which should have been a sign. We were a party of 5 and although plenty of tables available there was some rolling of the eyes when we asked for a table. Our starters were a mixed experience the bruschetta was a hit but the garlic mushrooms were tasteless and certainly didn't look appetising. Mains were a bigger disappointment , for the quality and portion size this resaurantnos definitely over priced and no sides come with the meal. They're are better value tavernas with better quality food and staff available locally. The beef stifado had hardly any beef. The prawn linguini, well 2 of us had this 1 portion had 4 prawns and one of which was green, the other had 5 but 2 were empty shells. It had and overpowering taste of fish but was otherwise tasteless andn cold. Oh and 7 euro for a size of fries is ridiculous by any standards who do they think they are. Other then when we sat down we were never asked if we wanted more drinks staff were not attentive. When the waiter came and we had left most of the linguine ans we explained our disappointment he snapped back that he came over and we didn't say anything. Yes he did come over but it was shsortly after our meals came and we we peeling the prawns. This was a young waiter and was so rude, we asked for the bill, paid and left. The waiter taking payment chose to ignore us other than to take our payments.
We didn't go back whilst on our hols which is a shame as we had high hopes as a few people hahd recommended this place to us. However, based on our experience not sure what the hype is about it's just overpriced and average with staff who def need to be in a...
Read moreWe ate here this week for our evening meal. The restaurant is a lovely setting. The food is very basic and nothing special at all. However it all tasted fresh. The service is incredibly fast and not conducive to a relaxing meal. The Prawn curry was very ordinary with no depth of flavour. Chicken souvlaki was tender and fresh but with a very basic sorry looking salad and pretty much tasteless potatoes with no seasoning at all. However all tasted fresh and was nicely presented. Except the salad. The real spoiler for me was...., bread was placed on our table with a small dip at the beginning of our meal which we did not order. We assumed it was complimentary as is the small liquer given when we paid the bill. However they charged us for the bread which I think is very underhand. Apparently I shouldn't have eaten it if I didn't want to pay for it according to the snooty waiter. I didn't order the bread in the first place did I Sir ?. They should be completely honest and up front with their customers about this. I'm sure they make a few thousand euros per season with this subterfuge and customers not questioning it. However they did take the charge for this off of our bill. Such a shame they think this is ok. Sorry oregano but we...
Read moreUnfortunately this proved to a disappointment for us, after having had a nicer experience in the past. We ordered, and then had something of a wait even for the water to arrive, and a jug of house wine. The starters then came immediately which we were enjoying, until being told our main course was ready. In restaurant if this level we should at least have a few minutes gap between courses, but the mains came, sea bass. It was a little overdone and I suspect it had been sitting waiting as they had prepared it too soon. So disappointed with feeling of being rushed along, in a restaurant where we spent over 70 euros. Even at the end of the main course when I was still finishing some bread from the starter, the waitress came to clear the dishes. We booked this well in advance looking forward to a better class of food and service but we left wishing we hadn't bothered. Nobody enquired at the end when the bill came if everything had been...
