Sunrise Taverna & Bar — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

What began into a lovely pleasant meal quickly turned into a nightmare. As paying customers taking my wife out for our 7 year anniversary the waiter asked for my wife’s instagram and Facebook details while pouring my wine, persistent he asked 3 times. Absolutely disgusting. It was made abundantly clear that we were a couple yet this was disregarded. Likely as we are two females the respect for us was completely disregarded. Homophobia at its finest here. these waiters would never do this to a heterosexual couple. The waiter would end up getting a punch. In doing this my wife was put in an a horrible position which left her feeling extremely awkward and harassed. .

It's such a shame to rate this place so low after enjoying the meal the first time we went. The service was very average the first time but as we enjoyed the food we went back. The second time we waited about an hour for our food. We spoke to the waitress and they had clearly forgot about our order. Which in itself isn't a problem cause mistakes happen. Although instead of apologising they checked and said it will be 7 more minutes, surprisingly precise so we didn't mind. It then took about 20 minutes from then. Instead of them apologising at the end of the meal for our delay or them forgetting which I wouldn't have minded they just ignored it happened. Won't be returning, such a shame cause the food is nice but the service really...

Food was average. After our starter, they didn't provide clean cutlery for the main course. Nothing wrong with the food but not as good as some of the other restaurants we've tried. The service was ok but had to ask twice for the bill before it arrived. They arrived to the table just with the card machine and no itemised bill. This was paid promptly to avoid any unnecessary awkwardness. When the itemised bill did arrive as we were finishing our drinks, they had charged us for bread which we had sent back at the beginning of the meal as this was not required. There are many great restaurants in Troulos but unfortunately on this occasion Sunrise Taverna didn't quite hit the highs that others...
