Visited for 16 night. We arrived at the apartment and greated by a young girl who called the maid. The maid spoke little English and showed us to our room. |The room was very basic. The mattresses were thin and uncomfortable. The towels weren't much better. There was no shower curtain and the bathroom floor got sopping wet. The cleaner used the same water to mop all the apartments so if you were the last apartment the water was filthy. ||On our first full day it started to rain and we were told by other guests there was a storm coming. |We hopped on the bus to a large supermarket as suggested by our neighbours. |By the time we arrived back to the Apartment it was lashing it down.|We had a 4 day cyclone. Except for 9ne evening, when we managed to get to the local restaurant we were stuck in our apartment with everywhere flooding.||We Understand it was not the hotels fault but none of the staff checked on us to ensure we were OK. Infact it was left to a young couple in the next apartment block who were so kind, popping to the small supermarket at the top of the drive to get people provisions. After the storm we discovered other hotels were much more attentive to the guests, putting on free food and drink. |I've never been to a Greek Hotel where the owners are not present. The husband of the couple who own it spent most of the holiday driving around the grounds in his truck or churning up the grass on his ride on mower.||The restaurant in the grounds was run by a family member and her husband. The food was excellent. We tried all the restaurants on the back road. All very good and some nice bars. |The beach area was lovely and we ate in the beach front hotel several lunchtimes.|There was a great bar at the bus stop. Friendly owner and bar staff. We ate in their restaurant a few night and the food was good too.||Once the cyclone had passed we had a great holiday.||So my advise is stay clear of The Green Meadow. There's nothing meadowy about it and there are so many nicer places to stay. ||Went to skiathos town some evening. Some 9f the back street restaurant are rustic but serve good food from the spit barbecue.|Take the boat to tsougrias for a day of sunbathing. Nice bar...
Read moreThis was our 6th visit to the island, we’ve stayed in many rustic Greek apartments however we visited Green Meadows in July, along with family. We were assigned room 13, the aircon didn’t work, initially we were told it was cool and working, next day we complained, as it still wasn’t working, again told it was cool, to which we were able to explain room 10 and 11 are cold. An engineer was called next day and it was re-gassed and then started working. The very next day the shower head came off and we ended up showering with a pipe for the week. One of the pillow cases had holes and stains on it and remained in the bed all week. We didn’t use it. Our son’s room, 11, had issues with the bed slats, that constantly fell out the bed all week. Room 10 our other sons room, the toilet wouldn’t flush, so they took to lifting the cistern lid to flush the chain, this was reported and no action was taken to resolve. ||Plus points, the apartments were spacious, fabulous pool, the people are lovely, it’s very quiet, great location in troulos, ideal for bus stops, tavernas and beach.||But at over £700 for a weeks self catering plus 75euro for aircon and 20 euro for a safe, nearly £800 in total it’s vastly overpriced and you can get much better standard at not much more cost. Jet2 need to look at the standards as it wouldn’t take much more than regular maintenance and housekeeping to rectify the issues before they happen.||To coin a phrase from our next door neighbour on arrival ‘it’s Greece back in the 1980s’ ||We still had a wonderful holiday, but can completely understand why people would...
Read moreAfter reading a few recent reviews ahead of our trip, we were a little concerned. We needn't have worried! Beautiful, clean and peaceful location- we were delighted to have found this little hidden gem of accommodation. We stayed in room 13, a poolside bungalow. The room was lovely, with a separate kitchen and bathroom area. Rooms are cleaned daily with towels and bedding changed at least twice per week. The pool area is immaculately clean, and the poolside bar open from around 8am to 6pm daily. Staff are lovely and friendly, despite the limited English, but they went out of their way to use Google translate. Always a friendly greeting from the lovely young lady running the bar, and the cleaner and her daughter are great characters. Magda, the owner was on site often, and very friendly. Pool bar food and drinks lovely and very reasonable. We found the location of the studios perfect for accessing all Troulos has to offer, and a bus stop virtually at the top of the drive. We really hope to...
