Our experience was.... mixed. We arrived at Salt & Pepper to dine around 8:30pm and were seated promptly.
We were left without menus for quite some time and a member of our party had to get up and request some menus. We ordered a few minutes after and then awaited our food.
Meanwhile a very effective gas heater was placed near our table for the benefit of a single person on another table who had dressed somewhat inappropriately for the September breeze in Skiathos. We were left feeling a little too hot and had to move down our table like leaping frogs. It was a little frustrating that none of the other diners were asked if they'd also want the heater on, but it's just a heater and we moved down to avoid the heat so it was ultimately fine.
The food for two members of our party arrived in good time but the rest of the food arrived a little while after this. The chips in all of the meals were essentially cold, which was odd considering the nice waiter cracked a joke about the extended wait time being down to the time it takes to cook nice chips fresh. Confusing.
My Chicken Souvlaki was honestly really nice and I found no real issues with it aside from the bloody thing dropping off of the hanging skewer right onto my plate and some of it off onto the (potentiallly) dirty table. This happened as the waiter placed my plate onto the table, it was quite funny but also a little bit... messy and unprofessional. No replacement was offered which was quite unreasonable in my opinion. I think the chicken souvlaki should just be placed onto the plate in the future as the presentation isn't worth the meat falling off in the manner it did.
Upon finishing our meal we all agreed that the food was nice but that the service and elements of the meal were somewhat lacking. We informed the waiter of the cold chips and virtually no shits were given. We recieved the bill with no deductions and basically no apology for the chips.
I concluded that I'd return to Salt & Pepper as the food was quite nice but given the way they handled the issues we raised, I plan to never return to this restauraunt.
Best wishes to the team and customers who enjoy this restauraunt! 🙂
What an utterly bizarre and frustrating...
Read moreSalt and Pepper in Skiathos, located in the charming area of Troulos, is an absolute gem. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The location is ideal, offering a serene ambiance that's quintessentially Greek.
The star of the menu has to be the Tomahawk steak. Perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor, it’s a carnivore’s dream come true. This dish alone is worth the visit, and the Muscles were anazing but the entire menu offers a delightful selection of Greek and international dishes that cater to all tastes.
Adding to the experience is the exceptional service, particularly from Angelo, a waiter who goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special. His friendly demeanor and attentive service truly enhance the dining experience.
The highlight of the week is undoubtedly the Greek night, where traditional music and dancing create an authentic and lively atmosphere that’s hard to beat. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening or a fun night out with friends, Salt and Pepper delivers on all fronts. For anyone visiting Skiathos, this restaurant is a must-visit destination. My wife had a few cocktails that made it an absolutely...
Read moreI write a lot of reviews, but this one is special. We went with my wife for an easy dinner after a long day at the beaches of Skiathos. The atmosphere was really good, as you can see the restaurant is open from all sides, there is a truly unfriendly waiter, who does not allow you to smoke even an e-cigarette between courses. He has a bad manner, and makes you feel really uncomfortable, without an excuse, in fact he claims that he wants to avoid bad reviews… First course was Greek salad. It was ok, you will find much better all over the island. Second course we had the lambchops and a Greek style carbonara. The carbonara was fantastic, well cooked pasta and amazing taste…the lambchops on the other hand were burned and couldn’t even be chewed, it was as if you were trying to eat gum… We mentioned about the lambchops to the “review hunter” waiter and he said that the chef knew it, since it was a bad batch from the butcher..!! When we asked for the bill, he insisted on treating us a desert “on the house”…we kindly denied… It was a horrible experience, in a place you have many food options, much better in all aspects from this one. PS. The only reason to visit this place is the Greek style carbonara…eat it fast and go, or simply...
