Gialos — Restaurant in Skopelos Municipality

why would I NOT return, even the food was ok: I was there with younger children, sitting inside, April.

Many, many people were smoking! They were even smoking while still eating at their tables. Unfortunately, we had already ordered our food, otherwise I would have left again because of my young children. In the end, I smelled as if I had been in a pub in the 1980s! And this, despite signs everywhere indicating a smoking ban. And the owners didn't seem to mind. In 2024, this is no longer acceptable, it should have been understood by now. It wouldn't have been a problem if people had smoked outside, but apparently they were too lazy to do so.

Good: average Greek food, good...

My wife and I were on a boat trip from Skiathos last Tuesday and instead of eating at one of the many restaurants near where the boats dock, we decided to walk left to the far end of the town and came across Gialos. We were so fortunate we made that decision as we had one of the best meals there during our two week holiday. The lady who served us, spoke excellent English and couldn’t have been more helpful. I arrived at Gialos for a late lunch and ordered a beer. To my delight a cold bottle and a frozen glas were served.The beer was followed by a second and without asking a new freshly frozen glas came with the drink. From the menu I selected pork filet with peppersauce. It was perfect, served as medaillons of te same size, covered in a creamy pepper sauce, delicious! Add to it the friendly, charming, professional waitress and my afternoon could not have started in a better way. I give Five stars, because more...
