Amalia Hotel — Hotel in Skopelos Municipality

Yes what a place . If you time travel and 1959 is your era then this the place for you . Or horror movies , it’s rated at 4 stars they missed the minus off the front . Zero atmosphere and we never seen any other guests we thought we were that night’s sacrifice, after entering our 1959 bedroom we triple locked our door and kept our passports and money near at all times . Eventually we plucked up the courage and goto the pool, the pool entrance was exiting the hotel walking down the street through white metal doors to be welcomed by all staff sitting around it smoking and staring at us . There was a nice slime shade round the pool to feel really welcoming. So after a 20 second dip we went back to the room and triple locked it again . We have never got ready as quick and went out . Skopelos is beautiful and we needed a few very large stiff drinks to try and forget our horror scene, feeling we were sacrificial lambs . We stayed at this hotel for one night as a special birthday trip, we were staying in skiathos but wanted one night on skopolos. We arrived at the ferry port and it was literally a few minutes walk to the hotel so very close to town and all the bars and restaurants. We were greeted at reception by the loveliest lady who made my birthday trip so special. They couldn't do enough for us, our room wasn't quite ready so we went to the pool area where Sofia brought us a complimentary bottle of prosecco. We asked about the best restaurants etc to visit and they even booked a reservation for us at the restaurant they suggested had the best views and live entertainment. The hotel was clean, our balcony looked over to the town which was a 5 min walk away. Breakfast was exactly as you want good choice of hot and cold and the greek yogurt was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel is a great location but what made it for us were the people who worked there, they were just amazing. We were a group of 3 ladies on a special trip and they made it even more special, we all said we would definitely stay there again.....thank you for making my big...

Great place to stay in Skopelos. Very nice place on a great location. 1 minute walk from the main riviera, 1 minute to the beach, across the street from a shop. Scooter and ATV rental (Magicars) nearby, and they are fair. We were not lucky enough to test the pool (closed in the afternoons, when we had time), and there's no bar service there at the moment; apparently due to the pandemic. Room was nicer then on the pictures, includes air condition a tiny balcony, and a fridge. The bathroom is large and clean, includes a bathtub. The flush was broken, but they repaired it the same day. Staff is VERY friendly, but Greeks in general are. Breakfast is 5 eur, its basic continental with sweets, cereals, fruits, joghurt, ham and cheese. You can't precool the AC by having it running while you're not there, because it runs only when you are in the room. Very inconvenient, especially in the worst heatwave in Greece in the...
