This evening we had a meal in this restaurant. Unfortunately it was a tale of 2 meals. I had the pork knuckle which was excellent. My wife had chicken souvlaki. Almost immediately she told me the chicken was bland and smelt strange. I thought she was exaggerating so I tasted the chicken. It was awful. It smelt terrible and was dry and bland. We were served by a young waitress with red hair. I quietly explained that I thought there may be a problem with the chicken but that the pork was excellent. She said she would speak to the kitchen staff. She never came back so we eventually spoke to the manager. He kindly deducted the chicken from the bill. In hindsight we should never have eaten the chicken and we are now very concerned we may become ill. Hopefully it was just a badly prepared dish, however, watch this space!! It’s a shame as the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very good. I have written this review just in case we become unwell. I eat chicken a lot and something just wasn’t right with this dish...

The carafes of house wine and the locally brewed Spira beer must get a mention too! Highly recommended and worth seeking amongst the pretty...

He sits at the back, and 2 or 3 times a minute he either stands up and shouts at one of the staff, or stamps through the restaurant to shout at someone. He also seems to be constantly arguing with his son, who does a good job when left to do it. When not having a go at anyone, he just stands there staring and scowling. This means that nobody is working with a smile, the staff appear unhappy and nervous, and this in turn makes the general atmosphere quite downbeat. Such a shame, it could be really good. But I certainly wouldn't...
