Taverna Vasiliki — Restaurant in Skopelos Municipality

Ambient, with better options around, would be more welcoming if greeted with a warm smile, sadly not the case. Do it all become pretty ordinary without the local Greek tavern feeling tourists usually expect. Coupled with that, the distant waiter after taking your order (!) asks you if you want to pay by cash or card, adding that they prefer cash (to which I reply I prefer card). This is repeated for every tables. I don’t mind the question but the timing, really? Then, the menu is pretty ordinary but the off the menu offered few choices, one which we took was “oven chicken”. The barely tasty chicken, was very watery and I could reason that it was boiled before been finished jn the oven. Anyway the result was very bland with watery fleshy result. Not to remember. The gyros, other (better) choice, seemed to be more reasonable. In all, I would not recommend it as a standing out of the crowd tavern, for sure I shall not return. I stand to...

Food was nothing special even would say one of the worst we've had on Skopelos, we received 2 meals within 10 minutes of placing our order but had to wait an extra 45 for the other two which meant the first 2 had long finished and had finished all our drinks, however if we tried to ask for anything we were completely ignored. The service and atmosphere was awful and the staff seemed overwhelmed and stressed even though there was only 5 tables full and were turning new customers away even with multiple free tables. We dined at Vasiliki Taverna 5 times over the course of our 10 night trip to Panormos. Each time, the meals we had were absolutely delicious with fantastic service and very fair prices on every occasion. My wife and I both agree that out of all restaurants in the Panormos area, this is the best dining experience. This is a fantastically traditional family ran taverna that I would recommend anyone visiting.
