Linarakia Beachside Taverna – Skopelos 5 stars – A truly unforgettable seaside dining experience

Dining at Linarakia feels like stumbling upon a secret—nestled right on the white-pebble shores beneath Stafilos, it offers that rare combination of unpretentious charm, stunning views, and truly outstanding food.

We arrived just as the sky turned soft with evening light, and chose a table right on the beach — feet in the sand, waves lapping a few meters away, and the scent of grilled herbs drifting from the kitchen.

The mezze was exceptional. The tzatziki was cool, creamy, and garlicky with a refreshing tang that paired perfectly with the warm bread. Grilled feta arrived still bubbling in its dish, dusted with herbs and a drizzle of olive oil. The stuffed peppers were sweet and smoky, filled with fragrant rice and just a hint of spice. But the highlight was the courgette risotto—creamy, vibrant, and light, with a beautiful depth of flavor that made it feel indulgent without being heavy.

From the sea, we shared a plate of sardines, chargrilled to perfection, and mussels in a garlicky broth that we eagerly mopped up with every last bit of bread. Every dish tasted fresh, homemade, and infused with the essence of Skopelos.

With ouzo flowing, the sound of the sea in our ears, and the sky glowing pink and gold above us, Linarakia gave us one of the most magical meals of our trip. Warm, welcoming staff, an unbeatable setting, and food that speaks straight to the soul — this is a place you’ll want to return to night...

We ate at Linarakia twice this week. The first time everything was perfect, which is why we came back today to celebrate my birthday. The location is beautiful, the staff were kind, and they even brought us dessert with a birthday song — a lovely touch 🎉

However, we were quite disappointed with the lobster. We ordered it grilled, and it came out quite dry. We were sitting literally one meter away from the lobster tank, and we never saw anyone approach it. When we asked, they told us it had already been taken, but that it happened quickly and we must have missed it — hard to believe given how close we were.

We were not shown the lobster or told the weight before cooking, which is standard when serving fresh seafood. Honestly, it felt like the lobsters were just there for show. For such an expensive dish, we expected more transparency.

Also, the power went out about 10 times during dinner — not the restaurant’s fault, of course, but it did affect the overall experience.

Great place overall, but the lobster service was disappointing, both in how it was prepared and how it...

You know you're in for a treat when your sense of smell leads the way, and that's exactly what happened at Linarakia in Skopelos. We were simply wandering the streets when the most mouthwatering aroma wafted out from the kitchen and hit us thru the car window like a warm, delicious hug. We ended up at this gem of a restaurant, and let me tell you—it was the best decision our sense of smell has ever made!

That inviting scent was a 100% accurate prediction of the food quality. First up was the mackerel, which was grilled to perfection—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a slaty flavor that practically danced on our taste buds. Next came the tiropita, a cheese pie that was flaky, cheesy, and everything you'd want in a traditional Greek pastry. If comfort food had a mascot, this would be it.

And just when we thought things couldn't get any better, out came the portokalopita—an orange pie that was the grand finale our meal deserved. Sweet, citrusy, and soaked in syrup, it was the perfect ending to a meal that already had us grinning...
