I ordered the beef ribeye (€21), but what was served was clearly pork, not beef. The color, texture, bone structure, and flavor were unmistakably pork. When I asked the staff, one server insisted it was beef, while another admitted it was likely a naming mistake on the menu.
For transparency: €21 is too low for a genuine ribeye steak, but far too high for a simple pork chop. It feels misleading to advertise one thing and serve another.
The overall meal was okay, though the meat (both octopus and steak) had a slightly bitter taste at times, suggesting the grill could use a good scrub. Still, customers should be aware that the ‘beef ribeye’ listed here is not actually beef. Honest labeling on the menu would make a big difference.
On the positive side, the location is beautiful, right by the water, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Dear owner, Thank you for your reply. With respect, this was not beef ribeye, milk-dipped or otherwise. I’ve eaten ribeye many times, and what I was served had all the characteristics of pork. Let me clarify my reasoning so you understand this review is not left out of spite or in bad faith:
Color: The meat was pale pink/white, unlike the deeper brown tones of cooked beef.
Bone: The cut had a flat chop-like bone, not the curved rib structure of a ribeye.
Fat: The fat was only along the edge, whereas ribeye has marbling throughout.
Texture & Flavor: The grain was fine and soft, and the flavor was mild — unmistakably pork rather than beef.
I also raised the issue directly with two of your waiters: one insisted it was beef, the other admitted it was likely a naming mistake. So I did bring it up during the meal.
I appreciate the location and the service, but I stand by my review: what was served was not ribeye beef. Nevertheless, I wish you the best in your...
Read moreHi !
Arrived at the location around 9:30 pm , there was nearly full house , live music , good vibes ! We took a sit on the terrace , with good view to the seaside and also to the restaurant where was the music. They came to our table after 10 minutes of waiting time, kindly asking for patience and understanding because there the tables were nearly fool and the number of personal to less. Finally Ordered Octopus and Saganaki Prawns , white dry wine, water , tzatziki , and some olive bred .
Drinks and bred came fast , the waiting time for food was long but not exaggerated . The food was well made , Saganaki Prawns were perfectly prepared for my taste , but about the grilled octopus I was not amazed . The portion was big , octopus well made but it was not so good seasoned .
All in all our experience was a good one.
P.S. Guys I advise you to reduce the table numbers, because your number of personal is not enough for them, and also the kitchen is not prepared yet. Better to serve less and with a perfect quality than much and not the best.
Hope to see...
Read moreOur recent visit to Sabbia on Thassos Island was a letdown. We arrived with our children, eager for a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations.
Firstly, the service was lacking. Despite being two families of 8, they did not connect the two tables for us, which made us feel uncomfortable. We were left waiting far too long for our kids' meals, which almost never arrived in a timely manner—definitely not ideal for young ones.
Moreover, the staff seemed slow and inattentive. We had to wave them down multiple times for assistance, which is frustrating when you’re trying to enjoy a meal with children. As for the food, the courses were underwhelming in flavor and quality, leaving much to be desired.
Overall, our experience was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend Sabbia for families looking for good service and enjoyable meals. There are certainly better dining options...
