Ostria Hotel — Hotel in Thassos Municipality

We've been there with other 2 families with 2 children each. The hotel has 4 apartments and 6 studios. We had the apartment. It was clean and had a good kitchenette more or less with all that you need sometimes we had to borrow from each other utensils that where required. The owners where very nice and helpful. 2 balconies whith view on each side. The rooms where cleaned daily and linens changed every 3 days or when required. The grill was a small 10€ gas station grill. They can improve on that and change it. We stayed for 9 nights out of 10 because the weather was bad on day 8 and 9 and there was no worm water (water is heated by solar panels). The day we left the owner after he understood that we are leaving because of worm water he started the broiler (water heater). So remember to remind them that they have to start it when neaded. If tou whant to watch anything on the TV you have few channels of greek news, CNN, DW and Tv5 for foreign channels. The garden is nice and just enough for 3 families, not more. We've been here for 7 nights, family with a toddler. Pro: close to the beach quiet area garden well taken care many shops and taverns in the area

Cons: The studio is too small for a family with a 2 year old toddler. I guess an apartment would be a better choice. We were missing warm water for two and a half days( we had to wait for the owner to make it work). The ladies from the reception don't speak English, so communication is almost impossible The noise from the near studios is pretty loud (I could hear my brother in law snore), not to mention if a toddler would freak out in the middle of the night (mine did it and I could only imagine what the neighbors were thinking). Parking is small but you can leave the car on the side of the road The bathroom is small

Maybe I'm more choosey about the place, but coming with a toddler and seeing that the owner would not care about the missing hot water unless you speak to them and looking that the neighbors were more or less full and only this place had rooms makes you wonder why. I would recommend it for couples that just want to be close to the beach, and families with 4-5...

We were definitely not sorry for choosing this hotel. First of all, the owner (Niki) is very warm, helpful and wants to make us comfortable. He gave us a map with the island and explained how we can reach all the points of interest.||The room has a double bed and an extendable chairbed, still it's kind of small - it's ok for one couple, but not for a family with children.||What stoke me the most was the cleanness of the room: each day the maid comes, takes out the garbage, cleans the room, makes the bed and changes the towels (the latter if it's necessary).||Even small, the room has TV, air con, fridge, microwaves and free, working wifi. Each room has its own set of chairs and table outside, along with a cloth drier. The garden is full of flowers, so it's a nice way of relaxing in the morning or evening.||The hotel is less than 1 minute away from the beach and restaurants and 2 minutes from all the small souvenir or food shops and clinic. The parking is free, in the parking lot next to the hotel.||I'd go there again, especially for their hospitality and closeness to all...
