Taverna Vicky — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

We read all the reviews before coming, and just like others mentioned, we experienced delays with our orders as well. The main issue seemed to be that the person taking the orders (probably the owner) was gathering orders from all the tables at once but not passing them to the kitchen right away. As odd as it sounds, our order was taken at 21:05 and arrived at 22:15. During that time, they were not probably preparing anything in batches.

The shrimp saganaki was very delicious, and the sesame-honey feta cheese was also quite good. The Greek salad was quite large in size. However, we ordered the grilled squid stuffed with feta, pepper, and tomato — unfortunately, it was grilled without being cleaned properly, overcooked, and there was visible residue from the grill, which gave it a bitter taste and made the squid very tough.

We specifically gave feedback about this to the person who took the order, but he responded with a vague attitude like “it can happen.” Aside from this person, the waiters and all other staff were very polite and kind.

In short, the strange disorganization seems to be the main reason behind most complaints. But honestly, we don’t think things will change. That being said, the view is quite beautiful and enjoyable. Prices are reasonable.

Besides what I mentioned, we also ordered two glasses of ouzo and paid 64 euros in total. Overall, we liked it. The dessert they brought at the end was...

We have constantly eaten at Vicky's Tavern for quite some years now. There are basic traditional Greek dishes but well-cooked and at decent prices. The atmosphere is great, the view is awesome and the service is good,even if it may be slower at times, especially during high season. I always feel at home at Vicky's and will return there every time. I recommend the stuffed squid, the mussels saganaki, the zucchini balls, the grilled shrimps -which you may fully enjoy (if you are not a total snob and you know how to find pleasure in eating your food, using your hands:) and I should also mention the octopus and the veal...

Outstanding food!!! It's my 11th day on the island and I can honestly say that the food was absolutely incredible,made with heart, tradition and with a greek passion!

My sea bass was freshly catched and had an authentic delicious taste- big portion - i really enjoyed it! They also served it with a garlic sauce🤤

I asked for a special lemonade 🍋 and they've made it with sparkling water and local honey- what a joy🧃!

The serving was very friendly! I will be back for sure! If you like fish🐟 that's a must❤️
