In 2019, the accommodation that we had booked in Skala Rachoni for the last 10 years, decided to 'upgrade' to half board. Not for us, as part of our holiday in Skala Rachoni, is dining out at the local tavernas, so we decided to look for new accommodation. Strolling along the beach one morning in 2018 we noticed Pension Karadolas and called in 'on spec'. We were greeted with a VERY warm welcome and after explaining that we were looking for accommodation in 2019, we were immediately shown the kitchen and several of the rooms. We had no hesitation in booking the Pension Karadolas for our 2019 holiday.||Upon our arrival we were again warmly welcomed and after a Mythos (or two) – travelling is thirsty work - we were shown to the room we had requested when we visited in 2018! – large balcony with small kitchenette and dining area overlooking the mountains/olive groves. Very peaceful, quiet and restful (although there were families in other apartments, we did not experience any noisy neighbours). The apartment, although small, was more than adequate for our needs. It was very clean (with good bed linen and towels) and was kept so during our visit. ||We particularly liked the dining area (delightful setting, very informal and although we and another couple were the only English people stopping in the apartments, all of the other guests were very friendly) which served good food cooked to order. ||One day we were invited to a family Bachelor Party, which was being held the next evening (cf stag party). A very enjoyable evening and I think my wife really enjoyed partaking in the Greek dancing. ||Last but not least the beach area is well maintained , trees offering shade if required, with plenty of sun beds. The sea shelves gently and the big plus is there are no sea urchin.||If possible we would like to...

And the lots of cars are carefully parked in olive trees shadow, they are not bothering you on the beach. Also, you should be happy to have your own car parked so well and so close. Definitely I liked the place, the only reason I cannot give 5 stars is the size of rooms, which are quite small, and the kitchen tools which were quite used and old. But hey, I knew it and I brought mine, so no harm done here. The main strong point of the place is the closeness of the sea. Basically all you got to do is to walk a few steps and drop yourself in a sunbed under shadow or in plain sun, as you want, with a cold drink or a got coffee and believe me, there is no better place to be in the summer... 2022 update Now they have a full restaurant there too, fresh fish, chopsticks, traditional Greek cuisine,...
