Nice food, nice setting off the main road, spoiled by the manager I'm afraid. Two things needed improvement, firstly the decking where the tables were situated needs addressing, I was bouncing around every time with cutlery in my mouth when someone walked on it, it needs supporting properly underneath, this was livable but the second being the manager, well thats a different story... Read on The manager needs to de-stress and take a long hard look at himself on how he acts in public and how people perceive him, he was running around frantic shouting at all his staff thinking he was some kind of Gordon Ramsey (staff looked miserable working for him by the way and we felt their pain) Everything was calm everywhere in the resteraunt and we sat there looking at him creating his own problems, all guests were chilled out but the only person winding everyone up running around screaming and shouting was this little angry Declan Donnolly lookalike who quite frankly should count himself lucky his staff don't give him a slap for how he speaks to them cos I came close doing it for them (yes he was that bad) Nice Restraunt run by someone that needs to grow up and learn how to speak and treat his staff better cos it didn't impress me one bit watching them get spoken to like that, it isnt Hells Kitchen so stop acting like it showing off, remember, it's not big and it's not clever how you...
Read moreWe decided to give this place a try on our second day in Zakynthos — and we were so pleased with the experience that we ended up coming back every evening.
The staff is incredibly kind — and not in a forced way. You can feel that Saimir and his Team genuinely enjoy interacting with guests, offering advice, and making sure you feel welcome and cared for. They’re also very accommodating when it comes to individual needs (for example, my wife doesn’t consume dairy or gluten).
As for the food — whatever you choose will definitely be made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Portions are generous and satisfying. I personally preferred the “Traditional Dishes” section of the menu, including lamb kleftiko, moussaka, honey lamb, and beef stifado, among others.
The setting and atmosphere are also lovely.
One thing to keep in mind: if you’re planning to come after 8:00 PM, it’s advisable to make a reservation, as the place fills up quickly. Also, since it can get quite busy and all dishes are prepared fresh and with care, you should expect to wait around 30-40 minutes for your main courses. If you're very hungry, consider ordering some starters to begin with.
In summary: Avli is highly...
Read moreWhat a superb dining experience ! There was 6 of us ( Inc grandsons of 5 and 7 ) and we all ate very well indeed. Our starters were , prawn sagnaki, baked feta cheese , garlic mushrooms and garlic prawns, all superb but the sagnaki was the standout dish. For mains the boys had chicken nuggets with fries and spaghetti Bolognese, the chicken nuggets weren't the usual processed stuff that's served to children but proper hone made and were lovely, the Bolognese was a large portion and again very tasty so the boys were very happy. Our mains were 2 mixed grills , Beef Stamna and chicken breast stuffed with spinach and cheese, the mixed grills were massive and we struggled to finish, the chicken was cooked to perfection and delicious but the best dish of the night was the beef stamna ( slow cooked beef in a clay pot with potatoes mushroom and cheese ) it was outstanding...I know what I'll be ordering next time. The restaurant was extremely busy but our waiter and waitress were attentive and ensured they provided good service under testing conditions. This restaurant was recommended to us and I now recommend it to you without...
