I dined at Trenda Novelast summer, a delightful restaurant nestled by the sea in Zakynthos, and I must say it was a truly memorable experience. The picturesque setting alone is worth a visit.

Recommended! Delicious food. Nice ambiance. Eating in a lovely garden with lot's of space round you (read privacy). Very nice people. Restaurant Avli get's a lot of credits and recommendations. We have been eating there as well (twice). We understand the recommendations as it was good for sure. Yet walking 50 meters further (down the road) towards the beach you find this lovely restaurant on the same side of the road (near beach club Seacret) with even better service and more value for money (read somewhat cheaper and better food). Nice detail, in every restaurant you hear Greek music. Nice, but not all the time. In this lovely restaurant you can enjoy a bit of lounge music. We've have been eating there 4 times during our 10 days stay. We spend EUR 30 - EUR 35 per person per dinner, but that was including a bottle of (nice white) wine, a bottle of sparkling water, starters and...

It’s a beautiful setting, you feel like you are in the garden of a local’s house having a meal - this is what drew us to dine here. But alas it is a tourist trap and we got caught. The food is average - ordered baked feta to start, this came on its own so had to add on bread and butter - pitas were not an option. For main ordered Moussaka - which comes as a luke warm slice of disappointment, mostly made of potato, a small amount of mince with bechamel sauce and sprinkled grated cheese, the side salad was very sad and glad we ordered a Greek salad too - this was fine. Our evening ending with the manager and waitress having a public argument. It’s only the beginning of the season, and there is a sense the staff are over it.
