Benikos Greek Gourmet Taverna — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

It is the best place you can go to. Best service in the whole universe and the most delicious food ever. I highly recommend this place as it has everything to make Greece experience worth it. The atmosphere in the local is the friendliest of the friendly. The food is exquisite. Amazing house wine, lamb, sea food. I’ve been here two years ago and I gladly came here this year (during that time I had wet dreams about their lamb 😋😜). Me and my girlfriend spent here every night of our stay on Zakynthos. Unfortunately, we witnessed an unpleasant situation. One man ordered a T-bone. He was with his wife. They had starters, and when the main course arrived they started eating it. After like half an hour the man started to complain about his steak, after eating all the best parts and said it was not done the he wanted it. The owner offered to prepare another T-bone for him and he refused. So the owner told him that he didn’t have to pay for the T-bone. And the guy stopped his wife from eating her meal in order to leave the restaurant, which was outrageous. Later on, he wrote a terrible review and, what’s more, he started to go around and tell people not to come here. That is called being an a-hole. Personally, I think that it’s one of the guys who wants free food in restaurants. Eats almost everything and then complains to get out of paying the bill. And even refuses the wife from eating her meal....

2024 .07.: update.. well well well.... Nikos wasn't there. That's not the problem. A young guy said, he is the new owner, and the stuff had to refreshed, cause it got old.... I don't think so. That people and Nikos host gave the spice to the guesthosting. The girl can't recommend wine. Don't trust it, try before u order a bottle. And DO NOT ORDER GRANDMA LAMB... that's amount lamb is a joke,.4 little piece. I went for 2 slide of pizza after dinner. Cause I was hungry. After dinner. In the end a guy asked if everything OK? I said taste good, but he amount is for babies.... he just laughed.... well me too. Don't think we coming back again.

2022:Benikos is one of the best place I been in Zakynthos so far. Nikos the owner is a really nice guy, who want to make a fully enchanted experience for u. He can do anything in the kitchen to satisfy your wish. If u order , he can bring u different fish, and cook it for u for the next day. He run the place with family, and his heart in it. The quantity and quality of the food is 5 *. Don't miss his place if u in Zakynthos. A must try, and one of the best choice. U will love it! Thank...

Visited this establishment late in the evening with my wife , a house white 1ltr Jug reasonably priced was our choice of beverage for the meal. we had a bowl of olives for our starter two slices of garlic bread were added free of charge by the owners staff, I had a mixed seafood platter ( swordfish, salmon, mussels and King prawn) side salad with boiled potatoes seasoned with butter and herbs, my wife had red snapper fish with vegetables and boiled potatoes, although quite a boney fish the flesh is quite easy to pick off so long as you take your time, for dessert we tried a local delicacy made with a sponge base soaked in a caramel sauce topped with a vanilla custard, whipped tinned cream on the side for added flavour ( although not needed) and a little disappointing because fresh would have gone better with the flavours , through out the meal the staff and owners were very attentive and friendly, a complimentary drink was offered by the owners prior to leaving, a pleasant evening spent here with reasonably priced food served by great host's Nikkos and Becky (special mention for Amanda).
