Yum Yum Taverna is hands down my favourite restaurant in Zakynthos if not anywhere! I’ve been coming here since 2019, and every single visit still hits the mark. The combination of great food, warm atmosphere, and a lovely location makes it the kind of place you look forward to returning to again and again.

The staff are always so welcoming and friendly, making you feel like part of the family from the moment you arrive. The setting is relaxed yet full of charm—perfect for both a long evening meal or a quick bite after exploring Tsilivi.

As for the food… it’s consistently outstanding. Their Spetsofai (a traditional Greek dish of sausage and peppers in a rich tomato sauce) is without doubt the best on the island 😋🇬🇷—bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. The Zakynthos fish is beautifully fresh and prepared simply to let the quality shine through, while Greek classics like the beef stifado are hearty, rich, and deeply comforting. Every dish feels both authentic and lovingly made.

If you’re visiting Tsilivi or anywhere in Zakynthos, do yourself a favour and book a table at Yum Yum. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth, you’ll leave full, happy, and already planning...

Chicken kleftico took 30 mins to serve. It arrived on a board with salad that looked and tasted a day old. Consisted of two bits of red lettuce and floppy green lettuce, lots of union, with a tiny bit of tomato. No cucumber. Kleftico along with the potatoes on the side were extremely salty . Overall 6 out of 10.

Staff were only interested in serving the big group behind me. They didn't approach me to ask if my meal was OK. The only person who paid attention was the hassell boy out side, who did ask. He deserves  to be paid hourly rather than commission. However my disapointment of the meal was only reported to staff when I finished !!!!!!!.

The waiter wasn't interested and justified the saltiness by stating it was normal to be over salty due to having cheese in it. That's odd because there was no cheese on the side potatoes but they too were over salted. Waiter offered me a liquir or cake but he didn't offer a reduction in the price. At 10.50 Euros or £ 13.50 in pounds it was extremely over priced. I would have expexted a significant  meal  instead I was served caffee food.signed England's best blogger...

This was the worst in my time in Zakinthos (total of five restaurants)…my reviewed on them are documented (21-28 Aug 2022).

Servers: great attitude, prompt, but really full of total awareness Food: horrible! I mean seriously horrible

We were nine people and went out for a birthday celebration on the 25th of Aug. we ordered plates for what the server said would be enough for 7 adults (kids had their own plates).

Let me tell you, it was a platter of salad and fries. There was little to any meat. Ok. We informed the waiter, hey, not enough meat. So we ordered some more plates of just meat on the side, chicken mainly. They came back and I could take the meat and probably bounce it off of the wall, that’s how terrible it was.

By this point, I was ready to leave, but we had a cake to cut so we sucked it up, blew the candles and left.

Paid 250EU and walked out.

This place is right in the middle of a main intersection, they get a lot of customers and they know people will come no matter the food quality, so they shove you what they want.
