Definitely the worst restaurant in Zakhynthos and most probably in Greece! Unedible food! Really! UNEDIBLE!
With just one other table occupied, it took them almost 70 minutes to bring us overcooked meat, underseasoned-everything, salads with some ranch dressing from the bottle, a chicken soup with a close-to-glue consistency and with lumps of flour, and the worst and smallest grilled octopus I have ever seen and tasted. Unedible food! ALL OF IT!
Nobody expects that all the food that leaves the kitchen to be perfect! Some dishes may need refiring or maybe cooked a bit more. They just don't care! The octopus sent back almost untouched. No questions asked... The risotto bearly touched. No questions asked. The crazy avocado and cucumber salad with a ranch dressing bearly touched. No questions asked... THEY JUST DON'T CARE!
110€ bill for unedible food!
I have told the waiter that is the worst food we have ever experienced in years in Greece. I have argumented every complain I had! But all I got was a bad attitude and he started to argue with me like it was my fault... Bad mistake! I showed our bearly touched food to two other tables that were waiting their food as well. They ran like hell from there! They charged us for terrible for but at least I have saved other people from that terrible experience.
P.S. The place have some recent good reviews so, most probably, we were there at their worst time. When we arrived, it was just one person in the kitchen and one serving. Although they clearly were not able to manage two occupied tables, the lady waiting kept welcoming new guests. Third table, forth table, fifth table... Way too much for what they were able to cope with. Then another colleague came to work and things started to move a bit in the dining room. The person in the kitchen was clearly not a cook though. Maybe they were short of staff but why am I paying for their experiments with food? My mother is still vomiting as I'm writing this review... She did ask me to taste the chicken soup because she thought it taste funny. I jokingly said that, at least one of us should stay alive and I refused to taste it. Turns out it did taste funny...
Anyway, you may have a 5 stars experience or our experience... Flip a coin...
Read moreNot sure what to say but feel it needs a review. We visited The Brothers twice and had a good experience, food was good service was good despite being busy, be warned though if you are there at 9/ 9.30 pm the music from the bar next door will over power the music at the resturant and you can't even hear what your saying. Both times we managed to get a table without booking as arrived around 7. As we were approaching our last few nights we thought we'd go again so booked a table for 7.30 to make sure we got in. We arrived on time ordered however within 30 minutes the place was packed solid and even though we placed our order promptly as we knew what we wanted it took over 1 hour for the food to arrive and having a child with us this was not good, glancing at the other tables they received their orders well before us. Eventually the food came but the childs order was wrong but as we waited so long and she was hungry, it was pointed out and she did try to eat it. No apologies were given for either the delay or the wrong order. Seemed that that the owner is only interested in getting people in and the service then suffers badly. Dont get me wrong the food is good but service also counts and having been previously you would have thought this counted but obviously not. We were just another customer lining their pockets!! So be warned if this place is busy avoid as you'll be waiting all night and by the time you get your food the music bar has taken over.....
Read moreWhere to start? I’d done my research on where I wanted to eat before coming away and this place was on my list. We finally tried it out on our last night sadly, but it was phenomenal.
We had a Window side seat next to all the fresh herbs they used, the chef came out and started to pick a variety next to us and the aromas filled the air. The waiting staff and greeter were all lovely and treated us like family.
We ordered starters, garlic mushrooms and Spetzofai, followed by the lemon swordfish and the stuffed calamari. Portion sizes on both starters and mains were ridiculously big, definitely more than we could consume.
The only bit my partner and I were not as keen on were the fries, although they were homemade and you could tell, they had a funny taste. Maybe the oil they were fried in needed to be changed, but that’s a very small thing that shouldn’t put you off coming here, besides you could always have rice or potatoes instead!
They also gave us cheesy garlic bread as a nibble before the starter, along with a botttle of their homemade wine and at the end when we asked for the bill, a portion of cheesecake to share and a shot of something strong but nice. This was all on the house, and was not expected but greatly appreciated.
Next time we are in Tsilivi, we will come...
