The service was good, the location stunning, but nothing, I mean nothing could make up for how horrible this food was. Let me be clearer so this review might help you make your choice, we ordered taramasalata (it was presented beautifully) it tasted like it was half salt, the zucchini were dripping with oil, and the calamari, already salty was further flavoured with excessive salt. I didn't even eat the meal, I gave it to my less discerning friend and she ate it, but she agreed it was horrible. I did tell the staff, but they gave me a response I didn't t appreciate it. The staff told me this is how this kind of food tastes, as though, since I am a foreigner I have no knowledge of Greek food, no palate. In fact, I have been in Greece for 30 days, eating out 2x a day and have had fantastic cuisine, so I have ample comparison. If you order a salad you might be safe.
In response to the restaurant's comment below...I explained my friend, not I, finished the meal...but what is embarrassing is that you serve this food and charge people. I hope you find a better chef and when a customer explains their distaste of the food, you actually attempt to rectify things, rather than being defensive... I asked for a one Euro refund for the bread, out of principle, as you offered us absolutely no apology nor tried to make things better. Clearly, this was an attempt to make back money back on my part, I regularly attend restaurants and try to get them to knock one Euro off the bill! Your response is absurd. I knew your food was horrible, but who knew you also lied. Good luck with your restaurant and...
Read moreGreat location. Terrible service. Food is a hit or miss & you might not get the food you ordered but you will be charged for it.
We just had dinner here. The mezze was very good. Our large order of mussels came in a shallow dish and several of the mussels were actually only empty shells…. I do wonder what the small order would have yielded: 5 mussels including 1 empty shell. The mussels broth was fantastic though!
The octopus dish looks beautiful, the tentacle fragrant with accents of citrus & a delicious sweet pepper sauce. However, it was extremely chewy. The roasted potatoes were not fully cooked. Maybe it’s because there is no chef in the kitchen.
When we nicely notified the young British woman - who seemed to be the manager - of the mussels issue, she frowned & just responded “Ok.” Managerial training needs to be put on her schedule STAT😅 She could not be bothered to say more.
We knew, upon being greeted by our smug waitress, that this MIGHT not be a pleasant evening. I was proven right! Off we go. To never return.
We are in Zakynthos for several weeks. This is not my first visit here. We have patronized countless other amazing restaurants in the area that I would rate as 5✨…. Do yourself a favor & bring your patronage somewhere else…..
Looking forward to the boiler-plate response from whoever will be...
Read moreThe location is very nice, staff was ok but the first table we were appointed to was dirty and we had to move. For dinner we had a
1 - the fish of the day (TOURIST TRAP!!!) - Ask for the price (it s not in the menu)
which looked really nice but was overcooked (meaning the fish meat was dry and not juicy) and extremely expensive. I paid 46 euros for the catch of the day and it wasn’t worth it at all, I didnt even had a salad or any side for that matter, the price being the reason for the two stars.
Otherwise the whole cullinary experience was mediocre (if you can t cook a fish right, then don’t do it at all! But if you still do it, don’t charge a fortune for it!)
2 - sea bass fillet which was ok but the portion was very tiny and the rice which came with the fish was to soggy/wattery and the price was comparable with eating an entire fish elsewhere
3 - oven cooked potatoes which were too oily but overall tasty
4 - greek salad which was...
