Nona restaurant — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

We visited a different restaurant every night for a week until we found this wonder. Please learn from our mistake and do not waste your precious time. In Zakynthos this is the restaurant. Traditional Greek home made food. The best I have ever had.

Try the stuffed grape leaves. It is coming hot with tzatziki and some special sauce on the side. Fabulous.

My wife had Musaka. Tender potatoes, rich and tasty béchamel sauce tender minced meat unique flavors and due to the pot it never gets cold.

I had Bifteki which is beef in tomato sauce with pearl onions. The meat was really tender the sauce was unbelievably delicious. We had a glass of white for the appetizer and a glass of red with the entree. Usually local wines are excellent. They are smooth and rich.

Dessert was on the house. Basically it was a chocolate cake with nuts and orange flavor in a dark chocolate sauce. The best I have ever had.

If you are visiting Zakynthos this is a must try place but if you listen to me, and believe me I have wast experience in dining all over the world since I have visited more than 60 countries and good knows how many eateries, please do not waste your time and money. If you are fond of traditional home made Greek food you simply will not find a better place. It is for sure.

Waiters will take very good care of you. Listen to what they recommend and stick to traditional Greek dishes. At traditional Greek food they are simply the best...

This was the place where we ate every day of our vacation❤️ Because the food was so delicious that we just kept coming back every day. The owner of this wonderful restaurant was very polite and responsive. He introduced us to the traditional Greek drink ouzo. We were delighted with how everything here is organic, and you know, like at home 🥰

As for the food, every item we ordered was incredibly delicious. And the portions are so big that I just physically couldn't finish them. That's why we often asked them to pack it with us.

If you are not familiar with traditional Greek cuisine, I highly recommend you try it here. Incredible gouros, the tastiest I've ever tasted. Sulvaki and moussaka are also my favourites. But the octopus in vinegar stole my heart, if you are here, be sure to try it, together with bread.

Absolutely don’t recommend this place! Food was expensive and very poor quality. The worst greek salad on the island that is already difficult to achieve because we are in Greece (!) veggies tested like plastic, feta the cheapest quality, salad mixed with sunflower oil instead of olive oil what was just ridiculous for Greek special… mixed sea food platter contained 1 prawn, 1 small piece of fish and 3 octopus rings and half of the plate was filled with fries and rockets, the same with grilled octopus that contained only 2 tentacles half plate fries and rockets… on this place even the wine was terrible. After the waiter was informed about bad food quality he tried to explain that the food is bad because is not enough olive oil in salad… Bad service and even worst food. We ended up spending €75 for terrible experience that just...
