Elia Mediterranian Restaurant-Bar — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Calling this place AMAZING is an understatement! Not in a million years we would expect to find such a lovely restaurant in Tsilivi. We got recommendation from our hotel Contessina to try Elia restaurant and got blown away from the very first meal. We usually don't go back to the same place twice while on holidays as we like trying what local cuisine has to offer. After trying other two places that didn't even compare to Elia(!) we just gave up and kept coming back everyday for the rest of our stay! Everything from the starters, Tzatziki, Halloumi, Calamari, Saganaki cheese and prawns, bruschetta, and meatballs. Mains like chicken Souvlaki, Ella's chicken, beef in a clay pot, Mousaka and salads to gorgeous chocolate brownie with a side of ice cream was to die for! Besides the food I have to mention the staff whom we received such a beautiful Greek hospitality from, we felt like a part of the family and You won't leave this place without free shots! 🤣 Sotiris, Lefteris, Dimitris and Vasilia thank you so, so much for the amazing experience we had while staying in Zakynthos! Looking for a restaurant where we had not yet eaten and where a vegetarian dish was on the menu we came across Elia on the way. Outside the tourist season there is not much open yet and for vegetarians it is a bit of a search.

Arriving here there was a friendly atmosphere. The restaurant had only been open for 2 days. The staff stood at the door to welcome you and took you to a table. They come to your table very nicely and kindly ask everything and really try to offer higher serves. They are very friendly and speak good english.

The food beforehand we took a flambéed cheese. This was briefly flambéed at the table. Then I had the vegetarian souflakie and a stew. Served well warm and good taste.

The design is not quite my taste but they pull it off well throughout the venue.

And then there's the music. During our stay, covers or classics of 80s and 90s pop songs all came on.

All in all, good serves and good food. Super friendly and definitely worth...

Elia is now one of my favourite restaurants in the world. And such a thing cant be done with just great food. The family run restaurant have the most wonderful staff whom without a doubt are passionate at what they do. Coming in late April where most tourist places were closed, these guys were open thankfully with quality food and great craic with free shots after our meal. Being the good tourist, we’ve tried other excellent reviewed restaurants but we’ve found ourselves coming back here time and time again. Total of 5 times (including one lunch of a highly recommended salad). Moreover, cant go wrong with any starter as we tried them all. Chicken is of top quality so any chicken mains had me in wonderland. Oh and try the margaritas! Overall, Elia is a must visit while here in Zakinthos. Thank you Sotiris and Lefteris.
