Mr.TACO — Restaurant in Guatemala City

Only writing a review because my girlfriend and I had this food two days ago and she got really sick, more than likely from food poisoning. The place is infested with cockroaches, 🪳. The infestation is so bad you can see them crawling all over the walls. We were there at around 1am, they close at 2am. It was something out of a movie, we didn’t notice until we were leaving the place. They are crawling near all the wall posters and frames and over the wooden vent where the food is being cooked. Not sure how this place gets so full, because there were a lot of people eating there. Not sure if people who are dining and the workers don’t see them or if they just ignore it? The food was good but my stomach was instantly turning after seeing all the roaches. The only bad thing about this place was the roach infestation. The service staff are no very approachable, the menu is not clear, you only see sets and it doesn’t mention individual items, and you can’t mix and match meats to try different things, otherwise you’ll be spending much more to get different individual meats. The food was good, but somehow didn’t taste very fresh because the meats were a bit dry. The space is small and kind of cool with the walls painted as Mexican wrestler themes. It’s a decent quick taco spot, but the experience made me not want to return any time soon. The prices were fair...

Came here for dinner and it was really good. Our tacos and quesadillas were hot and fresh. The additions - guacamole, pico de gallo and the salsa are all really good. They also had jalapeños which were nice.

Only problems of this place are that there are limited options for vegetarians and vegans, as well as there being no plastic knives available. The latter is an easy fix, and would help with the occasional division of food. Overall great spot and I look forward to returning here...
