Travelholic Hostel and Experiences. — Hotel in Guatemala City

Terrible experience because of the horrible ignorance from one staff member, Valdo. I’ve been travelling in south and Central America for 14 months and have never come across anyone that shows such lack of respect to clients. The guy should not be working in the hospitality industry. As well as that, the kitchen was absolutely filthy with used plates and pots sitting there for what looked like a long time. There was no ladder going up to my top bunk I was assigned and the bathrooms were dirty. The other staff were incredibly professional and very warming and engaging, it’s just a shame about the other person, that seemed to answer for everyone. Save yourself the horrible experience. The main part about ANY hostel experience is the staff professionalism, and unfortunately this is a non existent here. The staff, location and price are wonderful! However my sleeping experience was greatly affected because the dude above me kept sniffling from a cold, and he eventually gave it to me. (I couldn't take hearing him anymore and got up and asked him if he needs a tissue). Then, after he finally fell asleep unfortunately it turns out he's also a deep snorer. Needless to say, I am leaving this hostel the next day with a runny nose and very little sleep. Although this is not the hostels fault, what I don't understand is why they cramped 3 of us in the small room when there's a whole other room and the hostel was supposedly empty. I'm still giving 5 stars even because this experience was not the hostels...

It is an up-and-coming place, they don't have everything exactly set up yet. They're working on a second floor, they have 1 bathroom and shower downstairs. They have two rooms on the 1st floor with bunk beds; and open room with six beds, 3 bunks and a room with a door that closes. They don't exactly have outlets everywhere that work by the beds, so you can plug in your phone & electronics. They do have an area where you can lock up your stuff if you want. They have a small kitchen and a living room area with a couch, no TV. Book ahead of time, they fill up quick because they're so affordable. Bring earplugs to sleep, they do provide a towel to use if you ask....
