Good portion sizes at affordable prices. A solid place to get a typical Guatemalan breakfast or stew. The complimentary pan dulce provided was delicious, and coffee was kept refilled. Pepián de pollo is served with your choice of part of the chicken; comes with plenty of carbs including luxuriously thick tortillas and a well-textured rice pilaf, if you want them; and was hearty, comforting and perfect before a long day on the road. I have pictures!!! This ADORABLE downtown restaurant was on a corner in Guatemala city, so I easily drove into the parking spot and was sat for service immediately. The food is fine. The ambience is fine. However, at 0930 on Friday night, having just finished my main course, I was told the restaurant was closed, and expected to leave almost immediately. The waiter did agree to make a coffee, but it was take away only. The service is therefore actually zero stars. I didn't see a manager or owner, so if he or she had the night off, this might explain things.
