Service was very slow - it took ca. 20 mins to get two simple gyros in pita. The place was not crowded and all the ingredients are prepared in advance so I do not understand why it took so long to put them together, while most of the guest who arrived after us were already served. Nevertheless, the biggest disappointment was the dish itself. Portion, taste and freshness were okay (though nothing special and definitely far away from being the best in the city) but all the vegetables and the thick sauce were icecold. Not barely warm type of cold due to the slow service but indeed icecold, directly from the fridge. You bite into the gyros and the bit is half warm half icecold or totally cold... Hey, it is not summer and this is not icecream, it is awful to eat an icecold dish instead of the expected warm one as it is supposed to be. Sorry, never again!
Read moreOk first of all I'm Greek. I can judge really well whats a good souvlaki look like believe me. That store is a joke!!! I'm speechless!! NOTHING IS ORIGINAL! And the WORST was the terrible behaviour of the lady behind the cashier. Not to mention that nobody would speak English or Greek so that they can serve us in a proper European way. My girlfriend ordered souvlaki plate and came with the beer at the table. Immediately I told her that i would prefer gyros plate and I run to the cashier to change the order that just 30 seconds before we had made...and THEY REFUSED!!!!!!! Why would a serious restaurant refuse to change the plate that the client wish to eat??? Especially after 30 seconds? That lady has to reconsider what a client means for a business and her own pocket actually. I saw them taking out of the refrigerator 2 souvlaki for the plate. The potatoes also pre fried refrigerated. VERYYY BAD!! Little onion, cucumber, tzatziki and 5 olives. That's enough for 2.190 forints, which means 7 euros. That was totally not Greek, either food or hospitality... That place Does Not respect the people and...
Read moreThis was my second visit to this place, the last time being in winter/cold as well. For some reason, the restaurant is always cold—though not freezing, just mildly uncomfortable. The service is okay; nothing special but nothing terrible either. The staff can come across as a bit rude or sassy, but it’s tolerable.
The real issue is the food. Despite its reputation as one of the best gyros spots in town, I found it far from impressive—even within this district. The meal was mediocre at best. The meat was greasy and lacked flavor, and the overall taste was disjointed—each component felt separate rather than coming together harmoniously. Honestly, it reminded me of something you’d expect from a lower-quality place like Pizza King.
The atmosphere didn’t help either—it felt cheap and uninviting.
Overall, I won’t be returning to this place and wouldn’t recommend it to others. If it’s nearby and you’re just looking for a quick gyro fix, it might suffice. But if you’re after something extraordinary or truly high-quality gyros, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.
