HANSAI étterem — Restaurant in Budapest

Such a disappointing gastronomic experience. It's not the first time i have been there, and it has been ok before, but i chose pad thai. But today, it was a disaster. They didn't have sushi, though people at the next table had the entire sushi ship. Then, I ordered a classic lemonade, mango salad, and edamame beans. Everything was really untasty. The lemonade was with no sugar or any sweet whatsoever. They didn't ask me if I wanted sparkling water or still, it was too much with citruses, so sour. The mango salad was pathetic. The mango was not ripe and was green. The shrimps were tasteless. Come on, no salad sauce at all, no spices, no taste. But it's supposed to be super tasty Vietnamese kitchen. And finally, do you think that it's not possible to spoil edamame beans? Well, you're wrong, go check how it's done in this eatery. Seemed like the second day beans, dry, tasteless, not even sea salt was properly added. Really bad. Never have I ever not finished...

This is probably the worst dining experience for Vietnamese food I had so far in Budapest. The special pho soup which is supposed to have chicken, beef and shrimps in it only has one shrimp sliced into half. The meet and rice noodle can barely fill the soup so it looks very watery and not appetising at all, especially when the soup is like undrinkable salt water. The Japanese fried chicken tastes nothing like Japanese food. The flour coating is too thick and has an unpleasant powdery taste. The sauce accompanied the chicken is awful. All in all, I am very surprised to see the high rating. If I can have zero star I will. Definitely...

I visited this restaurant several times, starting from the first days of its opening. Unfortunately, the quality of food that was before can no longer be compared with what it is now. Perhaps the owners have changed, perhaps they began to skimp on the quality of ingredients and portion sizes, perhaps the problem is that the staff in the kitchen is too young and not serious... I don’t know... but I see differences for the worse. For less quality and quantity I still pay the same money, if not more....
