We went here after having heard there was the best fish n chips in the world here. I was ready to be disappointed.
We read that they were temporarily closed a couple of days before we were supposed to go, according to Facebook, they were waiting for the fisherman to return with some fresh fish! A day later, they reported being open again and went along.
The drive here was worth it as it's in the North Fjords which offers a slightly different view of Iceland. You have to drive through quite a few one lane tunnels to get in and out of here.
The fish and chips were well worth the trip, and put any British fish I've had to shame. The batter was light and crispy, and not greasy at all. The fish literally melted in my mouth. The chips were more like fries (so thin cut).

But the star of the show was the fish soup. It was handwritten on a chalk board, so may be a special they only have occasionally, but it was AMAZING. You can sit inside or outside if you want to eat there. If not , make sure you mention takeout so they can put it in the box for you instead of switching from baskets to the boxes. There is a beautiful rest area with a picnic table outside of that town where you have the ocean in front of you, water fall next to you and the mountains in the view.
