A small, beautifully decorated restaurant in a beautiful town. And that would be enough positive opinions about this place, I am living and traveling in Iceland for the last 3 years, I experienced such disappointment about the quality of service and food. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the ordered dish, assuming that what we got was a joke. The fish soup is tomato soup with a small amount of fish (and we took a large portion), my cod with potatoes and salad was tasty but for the amount (4800 kr) the portion was disproportionately small. My partner is chef and he exactly know how size portion of fish should be served. We have a comparison with many places on the island, and for this amount you can eat a normal size meal. I have never been so disappointed with the...

This is "the" place to go in siglufjordur for food and drink and is the type of place that becomes immediately your local hangout. Short menu of high quality fish, and the cheapest beer in town (including the local seagull67 costing lower than the brewary itself). The arctic char was super fresh and perfectly cooked with crusty skin, first time I had a proper one after a week in Iceland. Looking forward to the famous fish soup now! All preserved original recipes from previous generations. Last but not least very nice friendly folks running the family business now, with lots of great advice on what to do and where to go...

Ate here at noon on a Thursday and we were the only ones here. I’m not a fish person so she offered a plate of new potatoes and salad. My husband had the cod. Both meals were delicious. My husband thought the fish was tasty. The potatoes were tender and buttery and I’ve been craving salad and this one had lots of veggies on it. I’d go here again on our next Iceland trip. Plus the chef took our picture...

We had a long drive and stopped here for late lunch. It was one of the few places open so we had little choice. That said, it was very atmospheric and the food was good. The only thing was the price tag with the meal, which was the most expensive out of all our stops. The owner was very friendly, and tried her best even though had a bad back. Felt comfortable and local, so had a nice time after a long drive.

We were there in November and most restaurants were not opened. Choices were limited but I guess that can't be helped. Nice, small and cozy restaurant. Owner was chatty and friendly. The baked fish was simply seasoned and tasted just okay, the soup was decent with pretty good portion of fish.
