I have Almar Bakari to thank for being able to try various Icelandic pastries and bakery items. The selection is overwhelmingly huge! It took everything in me to not grab one of each item. It all looked so good. We tried a few items and loved every single one!
My favorite was the Vínarbrauð. I splurged and got it full-sized and a mini. It was delicious. Wonderfully sweet and It lasted about two days between my husband and I, and we agreed it remained tasting great the next day, but not as great as it was fresh. His favorite was the Marisipanstykki - it was basically two fluffy cake slices with vanilla cream shelled in rich chocolate. We also indulged in a couple other donuts and danishes and loved them all!
