As it was very full we had to sit in the garden which was also fine. Despite the ugly and sleepy jazz music all the time. This music has become quite populars in many restaurants here. Iceland please stop this or at least change it more often/play more variety. Service was not the best, we had to fetch the menu card inside the restaurant, then order (and pay in advance) inside the restaurant, then to carry our drinks and our water&glasses ourselves outside. We can understand it as it was very full, but the restaurant should offer the guests who are doing the waiter’s job a small extra or discount instead of charging them the same price. Also the table wasn’t clean (but we have seen this quite often in restaurants here outside). Soup was served with the main dishes instead of serving the soup first (or simply ask how you like it). Soup was good, vegan burger was good, the ofen baked cod with mushed potatoes, herbs and a kind of pesto was excellent, one of the best main dishes we ever had in three years in Iceland. We had two different white wines, both were bad and very expensive (3100 ISK for 2x 150ml). Espresso/Cappuccino was great! Normal prices for Iceland. Due to the wine and the service...
Read moreWe stayed in their accommodation which was nice and had food there the first evening. We really liked it and tried to book a table the next day. One of the waitresses told us that it wasn't necessary. Came back 7pm and a different waitress told us that they are fully booked. We told them that we were told not to book and that we would really like to eat there. We were standing in the restaurant for 30 minutes and no one felt responsible for us. The waitresses are all lovely but the restaurant isn't organised at all. No one is in charge and knows which tables are reserved or free or whatever. Everyone is doing everything and no one has a plan or overview which is a shame as the chef...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic and probably one of the best meals we have had in iceland- possibly anywhere. Not quite sure about all the negative comments regarding Iceland food prices- yes, it’s expensive, but the quality is superb and completely justifies the expense. This isn’t American resort town prices- outlandish prices for garbage food- these are well cooked meals with quality Ingredients. We are no strangers to traveling and no strangers to fine dining and this is one remarkable restaurant. The mushrooms starter, the salads, lamb, deserts- this culinary team deserves accolades. Iceland food is amazing, but Skyrgerđoin may be the best. Good job and thank you for a great...
