I would avoid this location.... I have traveled for 40 years and never had such a negative experience with a room or a housing vendor. If they were willing to help us out at all I would not write such a negative review.
1.) there was active mold in the room and caused me to have a horrible reaction to it 2.) the bed sheets were not clean and had strange yellow crust/body fluid on them in multiple places 3.) the pillow had old blood on it 4.) we found food remains in the room 5.) the host refuses to email us at all during the entire visit and pre-visit... we had to get a third party to call them to figure out how to get in the building (staff is not on site). I am worried for other travelers who arrive and can't get in the building. 6.) the shower knob was broken and another hotel guest was nice enough to help us get it to work 7.) the towels had someone else’s hair on them 8.) there were a variety of small dead bugs by the window sill and on the blinds 9.) since we did not want to sleep on dirty sheets, we thus were unable to use the bed sheets at all 10.) we also tried calling the manager multiple times and could not reach them 11.) we tried emailing the owner multiple times and never got a...
Read moreThis guesthouse was our first stop on our South Iceland road trip, and I couldn't have asked for a better first stop. We let ourselves in with a key code, so there was no staff. The room was small, but the space was used VERY efficiently. There was a mini-fridge, electric kettle, and complementary tea. The bathroom was also small, but (again) very efficiently laid out. It's also worth mentioning that the entire place was spotless. ||||The bed at this place may be the best bed I've ever slept on. I'll admit that I was jet lagged, and that may have had something to do with how quickly I fell asleep, but these beds are amazing.||||Since the room is small, I recommend staying here if you're with family, a partner, or a close friend. It's an excellent, inexpensive option if you want to stay somewhere less than an hour away from Reykjavik. There's also a small park nearby that offers a pleasant, peaceful walk and a...
Read moreExactly what we needed after the day of walking in the rain that we had. It's a simple room with a king size bed rather than two single beds squished together. Extremely clean and very comfortable and warm.
The only thing we could have used were some spoons in the room for hot drinks. We couldn't find any. This isn't a major issue and it didn't detract from our stay in any way.
Service is four stars because we didn't actually see anybody, it was all done over the phone. Again, this wasn't an issue but I think you need to actually meet someone face to face to give five stars. However this could have been our fault because we did book very late notice.
Would definitely recommend to anyone...
