Understaffed, slow, not fresh, expensive. This is NOT' Take away' place by Amy means! You better have 1/2h to waste standing and waiting for your food that literary takes 30seconds to grab and hand it to customer. Two ladies working, taking orders, making coffee and breakfast, cleaning tables. I had a sandwich, china seed yogurt and cookie that I could help myself and leave in 2min but unfortunately my ticket ended up in que (7th in a row) with all other orders where people have coffee and dine in. I watched same lady that takes orders and make breakfast literary clean tables while people wait for their food and coffee! I've never seen that in my life . I don't eat pork and unless you want croissant with cheap processed cheese, you have no other sandwich option as they all contain pork. Salad in the sandwich is 4-5days old (I eat mostly organic when not one the road so I carefully choose my ingredients). Sandwich, chia seed yogurt and cookie = 40eur - I would so leave this order behind and leave if it wasn't this expensive. Very unhappy customer. Not recommended for business...

The Bread Casserole 1890 was unbelievable. From the translation I wasn't sure what to expect. It's a full-on warm comfort food -- with small pieces of white asparagus, little button mushroom slices, and chunks of a white bread smothered in the creamy, cheesy sauce. Those melt in your mouth bread pieces remind me of what I love in a really good French onion soup. It's got bacon-like crumbles of fried pepperoni and surprise -- has a crumble of bbq chips on top. The sweet gal working here says it's the favorite Icelandic traditional party food and she makes huge casseroles of this for local parties. The apple cake dessert was shareable and yummy. The delicious whipped cream comes in little bowls on the side so it doesn't melt. Perfect! A great meal for my chilly,...

Knowing that they have coffee from Te og Kaffi I thought they'll know how to make a good cup coffee, but I was wrong. I asked for a flat white and the barista made it just like really hot cappuccino. She used the single shot of coffee instead of two, the milk was overheated that I burnt my tongue and there was waaayyyy too much foam (flat white is supposed to have only thin layer of foam). I really hope they will train their baristas better, because it's such a shame to destroy good coffee from Te og Kaffi if they don't know how to...

Cozy cafe in Selfoss Centre, with a lot of classic and rustic vibes going on. Nothing too crazy or gimmicky, which is nice too. I'd recommend getting the chai latte drink wise, and the skyr cheesecake if you're into a sweet treat. Both are well balanced on the creaminess-to-sweetness scale. They're not the cheapest options around, but the portions are rather sizeable, to say the very least. I was almost struggling to get to the bottom of that cheesecake jar, even after sharing a lot of bites around.
