Menam Thai — Restaurant in undefined

The Old Dairy is a very nice setting and had the food I ordered from Menam been at the least palatable it would have been a pleasant dinner. After taking one bite of the shrimp dumplings, I returned the rest of the plate plus the partially cooked jasmine rice to the restaurant. The dumplings were mush..the inside completely uncooked and the wrapper soggy and mushy. Not chewy and tender like a dumpling should be. They asked if I wanted to have the food re-done but it was so terribleI had no desire to eat anything else from there. No refund was offered. Before everyone gets upset...I am not a novice to.the world of Thai food or dumplings. I have eaten both in many different cities around the world and make both myself as well and this was by far the worst I have ever tasted.

I honesty rarely leave bad reviews...only when something is extremely bad.

I will not be back in the area as that was our only trip into Selfos. Specifically to come to the Old Dairy.

I was offered by one of the staff to have my meal remade, which I declined but was never offered a refund. I paid by credit card at 20:22 last night for the amount of 2,580 kr. If you are able to refund my card I would be most appreciative

Overall I left hungry and disappointed. I dined in at Happy Hour for one and got the beef Bao Zi, dragon kimchi salad and a local beer for a little over 4,000kr. Really disappointed. The Bao zi came with I think kewpie mayo and sriracha on them already, and as a person who doesn’t like sauce I really wish they had left that for you to do yourself. The beef filling was so spicy I couldn’t eat the second one. The salad was very bland with no spice in the kimchi - I’ve made kimchi before and it was better than this. If you’re adding other vegetables to kimchi you need to make sure you’re having enough cabbage in the kimchi to properly lacto ferment the batch. That didn’t happen, and there...

The Pad Thai noodle bowls were extremely sweet, albeit not salty like many other restaurants in Iceland. We had to ask for spicy sauce to eat a little of them. Also, they should stop forcing tips by tricking the payment machine screen. It's recommended that you just touch-pay with your credit card when presented with the screen for "tips." There is no option to not pay tips, which was the unpleasant 'first' experience among 30+ food places we've eaten at in Iceland. When asked, "Tips are not required, are they?", the employee said, "Well, you can just touch the machine with your credit card, then." A sad and disappointing tourist trap. Not recommended.
