On the bright and sunny evening of March 8, 2025, at 5:30 PM, my wife, our 4-year-old daughter, and I visited this establishment for the first time to enjoy a simple cup of coffee with snacks. As the only family that visibly differed from the rest of the crowd, we immediately noticed a stark contrast in the service we received—tainted by clear racial prejudice from the staff at the counter. The unwelcoming attitude was unmistakable, making us feel out of place in what should have been a warm and inclusive environment.

If this establishment intends to cater exclusively to Icelanders, perhaps they should have the honesty to put up a sign stating, "Only for Icelanders." Otherwise, I strongly urge them to reflect on their discriminatory behavior and ensure that every customer, regardless of background, is treated with the dignity and respect...

This place is a gem. They are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, dessert. Go for a proper delicious meal or just for a quick drink and it’s all great. You will find the local population enjoying themselves to beautiful atmosphere and food. One of the owners was telling us how they source their wines from women owned vineyards in France. Their wine selection is absolutely wonderful. We sat next to a lovely young woman who happens to be the hottest singer in Iceland at the moment and she was so friendly and unpretentious. Then I heard her music and wow she’s good. For a local experience and great food check out this bistro. It’s right across the street from a wonderful local pool. So, hit the pool, the sauna, etc. Then cross the street and have a...

We were recommended this place tonight by our hotel as it was close by & we were short on time, and I’m so glad they did as it was amazing! It was super cosy & the atmosphere was great, mainly locals which I loved. Low lighting & great music playing in the background. You take a seat & order at the bar, the menu is on the wall ....in Icelandic but I asked the girl at the counter to help & she very kindly translated it for us!! Thank you I didn’t take your name! I had the fish of the day which came with potatoes, capers & tomatoes. My mum had the pear salad, both were incredible & it cost 5800 krona.

Overall very impressed & will...

Kaffi Vest is located in a building that used to house a pharmacy. They have kept some cabinets and other items from that time which help lend the place a relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly staff. The coffee is good, even great as they claim themselves, and beer and wine are available if you’re in the mood for that. In addition to bread and pastries which are served all day they have lunch and dinner menus consisting mostly of sandwiches, burgers and soup. Update: Kaffi Vest has now become a victim of their own success - the place is constantly busy and now it can take up to 20 minutes to get an espresso. Order drip coffee if you're in a hurry.

Was feeling a little tired and stopped in for a little caffeine and to rest my feet. I decided to get a slice of their special cake and was not dissapointed whatsoever. The barrista/server was very polite and explained the history of the cake while pointing out a cool schematic drawn on a chalkboard of it as well. They also have a menu with lots of other good looking foods that other people were enjoying.

Stopped for a beer only. These were really good. White and pale ales. Kaffihús has a pleasant atmosphere, great background music, and we will go back for a meal. As with most things Icelandic, the cost of 3 x 0.4l drafts was a jarring €27. My wallet is already shivering in anticipation of our planned dinner...but apparently Kaffihús is a reasonably economic option in comparison to other restaurants.
