Today, while waiting for my flight at Reykjavik Domestic Airport, I decided to eat somewhere but not straight in Airport Cafe and not at the nearby gas station, but somewhere around. That's how I found myself at Stúdentakjallarinn. Literally a 10-minute walk. It's hidden underground on area Hiskollin Island, with a typical student atmosphere, but very reasonable prices. The fish and chips were served quickly. I've had better fish, I've had worse fish in my life. I was more interested in saving time and not having to make a special trip to the city center. And for that price, you can't even get a hamburger at a gas station. It was 4:00 PM, and I waited about 10 minutes. Waiting times are probably longer during college. The value for money is 9/10. I...

The atmosphere was very laid-back with inexpensive local beers on tap (inexpensive relative to Reykjavik). The lively scene included students, locals, and a few tourists, with a Premier League game playing on an enormous screen. Forget the fact that this is a student dining option at the University of Iceland--it's nothing like the student dining I...
Read moreThe cafeteria was nice. It was a little difficult to find, but just the thing we needed as the pricing in other places was a bit much. I had a burger and my friend had a vegan burger both were cooked and prepared pretty well, but I ordered a cocktail that I wasnt too thrilled about. All in all the venue was great, and I LOVED the ambiance of the space. However, (and I dont know WHY but) the thing I remember the most is that they played Anderson .Paak's "Malibu" album from beginning to end. It was completely unexpected - but it's kind of an attest to how AWESOME of a space it is. Would DEFINITELY revisit when I return...
