We were in Agra for 2 days and 1 night, we ended up having 3 out of our 4 major meals here! Starting dinner on day 1, when we weren't too hungry and thought one starter (Tundey kebab) and daal-rice would suffice, we were in for a huge surprise as the quantity was a LOT! The taste was amazing.. We managed to finish the 8 pieces of kebabs just because they were so flavourful and perfectly made.. The daal-chawal we could barely make a dent into and it was so tasty, we got the rest of it packed and gave it to our auto driver as we didn't want to waste it. The service was very efficient and polite. Next day we got here at the stroke of noon just as they were opening.. This time we came hungry after our Taj visit and had their Kamli Tangdi kebab - another starter I would highly recommended here, the murgh kali mirch, roomali roti & khameeri naan. One must try the Khameeri naan here, it is so good just by itself, super light and takes your meal to another level. The gravy was rich with flavours coming together well with the ever so perfectly cooked chicken. Dinner was here again after we went to Fatehpur Sikri and Itmaad ud Daula. We packed up our bags and headed straight here for our last meal before we would leave Agra and we wanted to make sure we did it with fond memories and fonder bellies :) We did a repeat of the Tundey kebab & also tried their Afghani Tandoori chicken. Knowing we won't be able to justify ordering anything more. We got a couple of buttermilk glasses to go with the starters.. On a closing note, I'd like to thank and congratulate the management and the staff for maintaining great standards. We came here after eating at some of the best rated and most talked about restaurants in Agra and were a bit scarred and confused as to how it would be as there were mixed reviews about almost every restaurant we had considered. We're very glad we went with our instincts to choose The Nawaabs! Hope this review helps the readers find a good spot to fight their hunger after a long day of sight seeing. The locals I'm sure already know the worth of this place going by their weekday (wed & thu) occupancy levels. Keep up the good...
Read moreVery poor service.. I read some reviews and thought surely It can’t be that bad. But it actually is. There are 6 waiters for 14 tables which is quite a good ratio tbh but they actively make it a nightmarish experience.
Reached here for dinner at 10 pm and got entry by 10:50pm. Must be a very popular restaurant, we thought. We powered through the mosquito bites for the so called “worth it” food. Ordered murgh masaulam with rumali roti (suggested by waiter) After multiple complaints, got food by 11:35pm. Waiter actually slammed food on the table and left. I mean by the time we got food, they were lowering the shutters. There should have been better communication from their end regarding the preparation time.
Regarding service, it surely appeared government office like service. Here is a titbit for you. You could be excused to think that govt clerks don’t realise that they are providing poor service but they do. Still they do so, to lessen their own chores and discourage more requests. This is surely not a feeling that should be put across your patrons. Quantity was rich and flavour was buttery. My chicken was over done but gravy was delicious. Any given day I would have let go of rubbery chicken but today chicken would have to be orgasmic enough to put me in haven for me to give a good review. This is a prime example of how a poor service can ruin a good meal and how difficult it is to enjoy food when you are searing. Needless to say but I got the service...

Rating: 2.5/5
We visited The Nawabs based on glowing online reviews, but our experience was a mixed bag. While the food showed promise, the service was abysmal.
Food Highlights:
Fish Tikka: Delicious and well-cooked. Lahori Tangdi: Marvelous, a must-try! Dal Tadka: Fabulous, perfectly seasoned. Murg Mussalam: Good, flavorful.
Food Lowlights:
Limited seafood options (no fish or prawn dishes). Nawabs Special Mutton Curry: So-so, slightly sour for our taste. Mutton well cooked.
Service Nightmare:
Overstaffed yet inattentive. No water served. Orders dropped on the table without a word. Forgotten orders. Service charge added without consent. We did remove it though.
Overall Experience:
The Nawabs' food quality is undeniable, but the service staff's lack of attention and professionalism ruined our dining experience. For a small restaurant, the numerous staff seemed distracted and disorganized.
Recommendations:
Improve service efficiency and staff training. Expand seafood options. Review automatic service charge policy.
Tips for Visitors:
Double-check availability of dishes. Ask for water and basics explicitly. Verify the bill before paying.
