I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Salt cafe and I must say, it was an absolutely fantastic experience! I give this cafe a well-deserved five-star rating for their outstanding quality of food and excellent service. The highlight of my meal was definitely the paneer tikka. The flavors were perfectly balanced, the paneer was extremely tender, and the spices used were just right. It was truly a mouthwatering dish that left me craving for more. The chicken pepper and salt was another dish that impressed me greatly. The chicken was cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior and juicy, tender meat on the inside. The combination of pepper and salt added a wonderful kick to the dish, making it truly unforgettable. The fried rice served at The Salt cafe was also top-notch. It had a delightful medley of flavors with perfectly cooked rice, fresh vegetables, and well-seasoned meat. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness and the portion size was generous. To end the meal on a sweet note, I indulged in the brownie with ice cream. It was a match made in heaven! The brownie was moist and chocolaty, and when combined with the creamy, velvety ice cream, it created a truly indulgent dessert experience. It was the perfect way to conclude a fantastic meal. Aside from the incredible food, the service at The Salt cafe was exceptional. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was enjoyable. Their knowledge of the menu and their willingness to accommodate special requests made me feel valued as a customer. All in all, The Salt cafe is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it can get. The incredible paneer tikka, chicken pepper and salt, fried rice, and brownie with ice cream made for a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

I felt like this is a big tourist trap with being able to dine with the Taj Mahal in the background. But only until the sun goes down, then you can’t see it. We checked in and were sat up in the open bar area, which was a mosquito infestation! Luckily they did have bug spray for us to use. And most of the viewing seats were taken-but not a big deal because they were uncomfortable to sit at, the height of the sofa vs the height of the table didn’t match up. Service was a bit here and there and not very attentive, when the many servers weren’t busy you could view them all on their phones. At the time of our dinning experience, I was on a bit of a dietary restriction, so when ordering food I wanted something bland with a crunch-and ordered French fries. The server told me “no”. No? Am I not allowed to order fries? It seemed as so! Me and also my partner were insistent on the fries and they did come to the table in the end (they weren’t that good either!). Food was meh, nothing to write home about. Upon leaving and not wanting to wait for the lift, we chose the stairs. Coming down the stairs we saw another part of the restaurant-enclosed and looked like mosquito free. The Google rating is what brought us, but after the experience I am not sure how it has such a high rating. If I return to Agra, I would not return here.

For the uninitiated, you may have seen the picturesque Santorini island of Greece in the movies with its blue and white colours overseeing the ocean. That seems to be the primary motivation for the Rooftop part of the Salt Cafe which in this case oversees a pretty cool view of the Taj Mahal in distance ❤️ Apart from the rooftop they do have an equally impressive restaurant / lounge area too and the setting is spacious, it is by far the largest cafe/rooftop in terms of covered area in the City. Our experience on both food and hospitality was excellent and we will be making multiple posts to cover what all we had but some of our recommendations in this post would be: 🔥Angel’s share (in the frame, first pic - best of the lot Mocktail) 🔥Fusion dimsums 🔥Chef’s special Mexican Nanza 🔥Veg Mexican Tacos 🌮 🔥Sunrise baby (Mockatil in the last pic) @the_salt_cafe offers different kind of cuisines with a stronghold in Indian, oriental and basically World cuisine that one can enjoy at a fantastic setting with courteous service. Not sure what more one case ask for, the pricing is on par with rest of the Cafes / similarly themed places in the City and we didn’t find the prices exorbitant compared to places in the same segment. Overall it’s a double thumbs up from our side 🔥👍🏼👍🏼

Today I visited this restaurant/bar. The music set up was doing their sound check at 19:30 whilst we were eating. After complaining about a promised extremely loud 5 minute drums sound check and it going on for more than 10 minutes we asked to move seats. The co manager didn’t take us seriously (naming silly exscuse) and after we finally moved seats and them not bringing our started drinks over to new table we then got IGNORED BY ALL PREVIOUS WAITERS AND CO MANAGERS. After half an hour of not being talked to despite finished plates although there were staff next to us, we finally reached a kind waiter who called over both managers after being asked. We then told the main manager that we had been ignored by the second manager, who walked past us many times after the complaint directly to him, always on the phone and didn’t bother checking in (for 30 mins or until asked). We explained how we felt. We can understand a sound check and everything, but if it hurts our ears and gives us a headache and we ask (really kindly) to move… to not be offered service and be ignored even by a manager is horrendous! The main manager then promised “the whole (drinks+food) menu” to make it up to us. We accepted some cocktails, which we told a waiter 40 minutes before that we would order after eating. Manager then brought over some shots we didn’t order (nice gesture). The place is nice and was a good atmosphere and we started enjoying ourselves and once again had a nice waiter.

When asking for bill we expected the food we originally ordered and the water prior to the incident and food. They then proceeded to add service charge and all drinks excluding the shots. We called over manager saying we are happy paying for food but not for the drinks he promised us, when saying he wanted to make his bad service right. He straight up LIED saying he never said that, just that the “shots” were promised. Never had such a bad experience in hospitality anywhere. I am so upset, i am leaving with ringing ears and a encounter with lying managers. To get “scammed” in a nice place like this is just not right. We told the manager we removed service charge and tipped the waiters (which we did well) who really made us want to stay and make us nearly enjoy our time. The manager said we didn’t need to tip anyone and should pay the bill… this again is not on. He promised basically a free tab which we really did not take advantage of and expects us to pay (the promised free drinks) and not the kind staff who make effort. It was a cheek when I complained about added service charge about the excuse that it is automatically added. You can simply remove it, especially after a co manager being so rude to a customer. I myself working in hospitality know that this is the done thing. Really disappointed. Lying, disrespectful managers who try to gaslight customers… this would not be okay...

My recent visit to The Salt Cafe was an experience to remember, and I felt compelled to share my heartfelt feedback. From the moment I stepped into the cafe, I was welcomed by a warm, cozy ambiance that immediately set the tone for what turned out to be a truly memorable outing. The aesthetic decor, soft lighting, and soothing music created the perfect environment for a relaxed and enjoyable time.

The interior of The Salt Cafe strikes a beautiful balance between modern elegance and comfort. Every corner is tastefully designed, making it both Instagram-worthy and inviting. Whether you're there for a casual hangout, a romantic date, or even a solo coffee break, the atmosphere instantly makes you feel at home.

Now, coming to the most important part — the food! I must say, every dish we ordered exceeded our expectations. The menu offered a wonderful variety of options, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. The presentation of the food was impeccable — each dish looked like a work of art and tasted even better. The flavors were well-balanced, fresh, and thoughtfully put together. The ingredients tasted high-quality, and it’s evident that the kitchen team puts a lot of care into every plate.

One standout dish for me was the [insert your favorite dish — e.g., “stuffed mushroom risotto” or “peri-peri grilled paneer”] — it was cooked to perfection and absolutely bursting with flavor. The drinks were equally impressive. The signature mocktails and coffee options were not only refreshing but also beautifully served.

Apart from the delicious food, what truly enhanced the experience was the impeccable service. The staff at The Salt Cafe was extremely courteous, professional, and attentive without being overbearing. They were well-informed about the menu, made great recommendations, and ensured we were comfortable throughout the visit. It’s rare to find such a perfect balance of friendliness and professionalism in service, and this team nailed it.

Cleanliness and hygiene were clearly a priority too — everything, from the tables to the restrooms, was spotless. Even during busy hours, the staff maintained order and calmness with grace.

Overall, The Salt Cafe is more than just a place to eat — it’s a space that elevates dining into a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I left with a full heart (and a full stomach), already planning my next visit. Whether you’re a foodie, a coffee lover, or just someone who appreciates a peaceful ambiance with top-notch service, The Salt Cafe is a must-visit.

Thank you to the entire team for delivering such a memorable experience. Keep up the amazing work — you’ve certainly earned a loyal...
